Lock barrels and ignition wiring

Guy from work has picked up a stat write off 08zx6 but it came with no keys

Was wondering how he would Go about making it push button start or even getting another lock barrel to suit the US wiring harness he got

Keys arnt overly important since his son races dirt drags and this will be the lil fellas upgrade from his older zx6

Any thoughts appreciated


Anoter option was for me to buy a racing harness for my race zx10 (2008) and sell him mine can this be done??

I strongly doubt it. The chip in the key is coded to the ECU, so you need the original key (chip) or a new ECU. If he goes the US spec path he needs a US harness and ECU.

Ha ha looks like he is shit outta luck can't wait to break the news to him LOL

.. or he buys the race harness for the ZX6, check with Kawasaki first tho to be sure it will fix the issue (without needing the orig key to 'unlock' the system)
