    lowering my cbr600f4i

    Hello all
I have just purchased my adjustable lowering links from Soupys and am after advice:
The best way to go about doing it?
Do I pull the front forks?
    How far should i lower?
    Etc?

Any advice or assistance will be greatly appreciated xo
    Thanx for reading

Lowering link will be for the rear shock, not the front forks. How far should you lower? Well i dunno, why are you lowering it to begin with, to get yur toes to the ground or appearance or comfort etc? Answer that to yourself and you should have an answer to that bit. As low as you need to to achieve whatever you set out to achieve. Bearing in mind lowering it will affect how it sits on the side stand, might need to bend it or the like to compensate.
If your not competent with tools, id say get a helping hand with the lowering link, its not difficult but you will need a jack and tools and some knowhow. If you have those though, should be a piece of cake.
If its got tits or wheels, it going to give you trouble.

The forks have to be done also. Pick a point on the front fairing and put a bit of tape there, do the same with the rear, lower the back till you are happy and remeasure the back, now lower the front the same amount, it will steer very similar now.
To lower the forks loosen one at a time and push it up through the triple clamps, tighten and move on to the other one.

cbr600f4i lowering link, f4i lowering links, f4i adjustable kickstand, f4i lowering kit, f4i lowering link

Can get an adjustable lower link, and an adjustable side stand. And as said above, drop the front lower using the triple clamps. If you only need to lower it a tiny bit, maybe pick up a second hand seat and have the foam height reduced, but might be a little uncomfortable.

Shouldn't be too hard to do it yourself, with the link put a piece of wood or board under the rear wheel to keep it up and slowly undo the bolts on the plate which goes on the link and shock and swap them over Then as stated above loosen ONE fork leg at a time and slide it up ~10mm, then tighten and do the other and check the ride height front to back

tips of your toes are all you need, i've been outridden by people who can only get one toe down but never by someone with a lowered bike, it really does alter ground clearance and sometimes quite severely.

but you'll work that out when you start tearing the sides off your boots and can't get the speed into corners that you want to, if all else fails you could try this lowering kit Lowering Kit [LOW34] - $19.99 : KaleCoAuto, Hard to find automotive items! its really cheap.

Honestly, you don't need to lower it if you can touch with your tiptoes.
I have a friend that was about 5'3 and could only just tiptoe her 748, she used to just slide to one side of the seat to get a proper foot down at the lights.
But I know it's a confidence thing that most girls like to have both feet down at the lights. Don't forget you'll also need to shorten your side stand or you'll end up with the bike falling over.

What Desmo and filbert said - I'm 5'2 and can only get the tiptoes of one foot down on my ZX6R if I slide off the seat.

Was uncomfortable at first, but after a bit of practice its absolutely fine. Better off not interfering with the handling if you can help it.

Although maybe since you've already got the link it will be worthwhile lowering it until you're comfortable with the bike, and then returning it to normal

It is a confidence thing as well true!
I think once I have my full confidence back I will start to raise it again,
Just a scardy cat because it is heavy, afraid I am going to drop her :S
Thank you all for your advice!

My mum rides a KTM 990 superduke and can barely touch the ground on tippy toes. She's just gotten used to it too!

I 5' for 47kg. You need to watch me park my F4i, very funny
Sometimes is frustrating but i just love the bike and i don't care what people think.
Try to park in spots that are easy for you, and if you need to push the bike backwards just walk it.
I can tiptoe just with one foot, but I feel more confortable to slide on my side and touch the ground with the flat foot.
Lower your bike for gain confidence is a good idea but as soon you get it go back to normal!
