    Need help!

    Hey i just got my bike today... kawasaki zx2r and i love it to death... riding it all day no problem untiil i let my mate ride it... he stalled it twice and after the second time it wont start again!! u can hear the ignition and thats it! so what i tried is throttle a bit while pressing the starter.. nothing but ignition... tried pulling the choke all the way, worked the first time it stalled but the second time he stalled it tried the choke thing didnt work.... but after the bike was running for like nearly an hour before it stalled running so smoothly, it felt like the battery was dying after i tried starting it up again...

    now im out of ideas and a bike that WONT START fuck! any ideas or u have gone through the same thing plz post need it fixed ASAP so i can start my FUN again...

    its a 2000 model and i bought it privately and the owner said, as it was morning, before starting a the bike pull the choke all the way and leave it there for a min or so for the engine to warm up

    so it aint that old of a bike... WHY AINT IT STARTING just ignition sounds..... fuck!

    Try push starting it, it's a kwaka you can't expect it to work every time.

    thanks for all the replies guys... unfortunately my bike is at my mates house and im kinda busy the rest of the night but tmz definately ill try push starting it or full choke and starter button for 15secs or so

    if theres any other ideas either than those plz post and let me know that would be great !

    and yes theres plenty of gas in the tank and the starter switch is on, i checked all of those small things.

    did you accidentally hit the kill switch?

    is the fuel tap set to reserve, but no fuel in tank?

    maybe its not registering nutral? try knocking it in gear and back out to N again. it wont start if the stands down and it thinks its in gear.

    Its flooded. Clean the plugs and charge ur battery before trying to start it again

    lol, disregarding the kwaka comment, try push starting it. should be really easy, and it'll let u know if it's the battery or something else.

    if its flooded, choke off wide open throttle an crank it over, after a couple of rotations it should spring into life

    What do you mean, that is constructive... It would help!

    As the above said charge the battery, check the killswitch and fuel tap (and fuel!) and give it a go again.

    i heard some car chargers might melt the bike battery... fark theres alot for me to learn... im a bit scared to do nething mechanical at the moment ideas and opinions left right and centre making me go a bit kuu kuu

    well im gonna try the choke it hard start, if that fails gonna bump start it, if that fails maybe battery flat any chance u can jump start a bike using jumper cables? car to bike battery?

    yeah you can jump start from a car.

    attach red and black to positive and negative of car batt. Then attach red to positive of bike batt and black to your foot peg (or other unpainted metal surface). DON'T put black onto negative of bike batt or you could blow some shit up.

    yeh i jumped started it with my car it instantly started wohoooo let it run for 10 mins and fuck still not enuff charge to start it by itself just yet... i got a car charger 12v let it charge for the rest of the day, ill come back at night to giv a test... thanks to every1 that posted or pm u've been great help! hope to see u all on the road 1 day
