    oil viscosity for honda hornet

    Hi guys

Just getting my first service done on my 2008 honda hornet this week and after which im looking at switching to fully synthetic. However i need some advice about the correct oil viscosity.

the description recommends 10w30 whilst the chart tends to say that since we live in a hotter climate i should be running 10w40. Any suggestions?

While im on the topic i was actually looking at running amsoil 10w40, anyone had any experience with this oil?

10W40 will be fine, and will give you a way larger choice. I can't think when I last saw a 10W30 m/c oil (haven't really been looking though).
No experience with Amsoil, but interval length will make a way bigger difference than brand. Best way to see if it suits the bike is to run it, and pay attention to the gearbox feel at 100/500/1000km, then compare with a different brand the next time.
