Just out of curiosity what would a paint job like this cost, tank and 2 side covers?

I'd have estimated a lower figure, perhaps $650, because you can get a fully faired bike (tank, fairing front, sides, belly pan & tail fairing) painted by a quality outfit for around $1k or so. Mind you, i'm a customer, not a painter.
