    Power loss at med-high revs??

    Hey guys, zx6r 2001

sparkies, carb clean and balanced/tune about a year + ago.
changed oil and filter abt 3k-4k kms ago

my clutch cable, i didnt think i adjusted it properly, now that i think about it it was kinda tight for a while last few months

ive adjusted my clutch to the more normal settings, after i rode my mates bike and compared clutch handle tightness, i knew my 1 was 2 tight

now i notice that my bike runs fine at low revs, but has loss power at higher revs, say over 8k rpm

in neutral the engine revs fine, sounds clean

Gonna take it in for servicing, but i wanna know wat kinda problem i might be looking at before i might get ripped off

would it be a performance issue or i fucked my clutch/gears for running my cable a tad tighter than usual? any experiences?

any advice would be much appreciated. also i have moved to sydney

what do you mean loss of power?
Do the revs keep rising with out the normal increase in speed? -clutch slipping
was your bike 'creeping' when you think you have the clutch cable to tight? - would have been putting strain on clutch plates and may cause them to wear quicker than normal

If you think its clutch, put it in 5th or 6th and full throttle, if its no good it will start slipping (you'll hear the revs rise but not increase in speed)

Other than that you haven't really given us much to go on. If its not the clutch its going to be a fuelling issue.

    ok... more information

Say I change from 1st to 2nd at normal revs, and giv it throttle pass 8k it seems to struggle to climb up the revs, and the bike doesnt even pull, seems almost struggling, revs doesnt steadily climb, its like fine at lower revs, but higher revs its like demented

I will try putting it into 5th and give it full throttle this week see if it slips.

also to add my mate came by, and he started up the bike a few weeks ago to check it out

my bike always needs to choke to start up when cold, but once he got it going he turned the engine off and left the choke on which i didnt know, I came back 30 mins to go for a ride to notice the bike couldnt start, maybe fouled the plugs as accidentally left on choke. but it was only for 30 mins give or take, would that have affected it? Eventually after 5-10 mins i got the bike started and cleared its lungs a bit, it ran fine after that though
