    Problems with my PCIII USB

    Hi Guys

I'm having an issue with my PCIII USB on my 07 R1.

I just tried to update the firmware. I managed to check the firmware on the PCIII and it was a previous revision. So I downloaded the latest Firmware version (Ver 2.3.2).

I noticed when I turn the ignition on, the PCIII unit has a meter and the lights would come on and cycle up and down the meter with green lights. I tried to update the firmware and it said it failed and after that the meter was no longer doing that. Instead 2 green lights would stay on. The second light from the top and the second light from the bottom. I have attached an image to show what I mean

    IMG_0158.JPG

When I try to load a map is keeps saying "Error Programming Module"

And when I try to start my bike the lights do the same thing and it just turns over but doesn't start.

Any help would be greatly appreciated

    Thanks

it doesnt matter what the lights mean but i can take a guess- ERROR END RUNTIME

there is no temp file (ala windows installer) to unpack into with a firmware flash, no roll back. you are writing directly into EEPROM. if the flash fails the command code is incomplete and/or corrupted and it wont work. reasons for flash failure are either incorrect firmware, comms fault during flash, hardware failure.

You can also supply power to the unit by turning the bike on apparently

    G'day Glen

I downloaded the latest version of the PCIII USB Control Centre Software from their site and installed it. Before I tried to flash it, I was able to check what version of the firmware it was running with the Control Centre, so I know at that point it was communicating.

I've also read the Manual and it does say you can also supply power to the PCIII by turning the bike on.

I don't think I got the 9V battery adaptor with my unit when I bought it (2nd hand).

Would I be able to borrow it for a few minutes to see if solves my problem? I'd pay for it or rent it for the period hehe

I'm hoping that's all it is and that I haven't fried my unit :/
