Depends, is it the stator, the reg/rec, the battery, wiring, etc, etc?

    Call Triumph...

State what bike it is and get the prices...

Use those prices as a bargaining tool to buy the bike...

    Get cheaper parts and win...

They are OK, a bit lardy and underpowered, but a fine bike.

Be aware that if it IS a stator problem it could also have fucked the Reg/Rec, battery and asstd wiring as well
I have seen pics where a bad stator has taken out the RR and the wiring loom

ask bendito. he knows LOTS about stators
As a general rule, the better it felt when you said it, the more trouble it's going to get you into.
