    R1 fairing wonders???

Hey guys I have a 01 R1 and I am looking at getting new fairings. Does anyone know if it is possible to fit fairings from an 03 or 04 model? Any info would be much appreciated

at a guess i'd say it wont be a direct bolt on fit

you could do it with some messing around, drilling new holes etc.. but i imagine it'd be a bit of effort.

Anything can be done, but I suspect it can't be done easily.

You'd be better off with an ebay set, they're only extremely difficult to install, instead of nigh on impossible
In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.

04? no...03? not sure...but if you did I dare say you'd do some serious damage to the 03 fairings to make it fit...negating the whole effort.

The bike changes too much from 01 to 04. It could be done but it would require fairing and bracket modification. If the 03 was a different model then that'd be the same hassle. The only fairings that are direct bolt-on would be the years where the bike didn't change significantly, such as 04-06, 07-08, etc.

Ive seen quite a few 01 fairings come and go on ebay as i am always looking for myself. Anything short of buying Brand new replacment ones you'd have to settle for slightly damaged fairings.
But as everyone else was saying, Anything is possible with the right amount of effort. But is it wroth it.
I'll be intrested to hear what you have planed

I have been looking at the redbull kits, I like the look of the ones with the doctor and 46 logos rather than just the bulls. And the primary part I have been looking to upgrade to an 03 model is the duck tail. I was wanting to change the tail light to the single led type rather than the 2 round tail lights.
