Radiator Repair

Well recently I have had a lot of drama with the radiator on the racebike not doing wot it's s'posed to, namely keeping water inside & making it cool (as in temp not attitude).

I trawled the web & wreckers to virtually no avail. I contacted a few repair places that '.. just backed away fearfully ..' when I told them it was a curved m/c rad.

Anyway while at Causway Kawasaki a week or so ago I mentioned my predicament to Helen (spare parts supremo) & she gave me the heads up on who sorted the rad on her ZX6, AAA Radiators - AAA Radiator Service: citysearch

Well wot a relief to find someone that works on bike rads & knows wot they're doin. Also spent a few hours straightening a lot of the bent fins. So it's now fixed (hopefully) & back in the bike ready for a day at the track tomorrow.

Also found while putting the bike back together that the fan had been wired in back to front so it was blowing forward! Mucho gracias to Sean'o for finding that out & fixing it & generally being bike mech for the arvo while I did the brakes on the car.

Fingers crossed.

note this down people this is the first I have heard of anyone going near a curved M/C radiator. Oh and FFS buy a radiator guard before you plonk down on that for shizzle exhaust its cheaper in the long run, or just get an aircooled bike.

If this is the guy from Welshpool area he is really good. He rebuilt the radiator for my Porsche in less than 2 days. Cost me 1/3 the price of a new one. I forget the guys name but his work is really really good.
