I bent my valve stem a little too much on the rear wheel this morning and a small crack formed and is leaking. Has anyone tried the method above? Or is it best to head to a tyre shop?

no harm in trying, don't drop the fat end inside and maybe use a bit of wood to spread the load on the rim.
Wow quick reply.
Yeh was just trying to see of there were better options as i can probably ride for 20km before it goes flat where if i jump into it and it doesnt work ill have to remove the tyre and take it some where. I cant a fit motorcycle wheel in my car.
I'm not a footy fan!
there was some discussion on this a couple of weeks back, have a search for some different ideas
Yeh i did search before i posted but only found one thread full of questions no anwers lol.
Yeh but its cramped. Last time i had to take rim (car rim) to tyre shop the passenger seat came out. Lol.
gave it a shot this morning, but a wider tire just doesnt compress as much as a scooter tire.
EDIT: decided to rip the wheel off and as i dont have a way of transporting the bike as a whole but while it was off i gave it another shot, turns out its a lot easier to break the bead while the wheel is off. method above works.
now just have to find someone with a car that fits the wheel so i can take it to the servo to re bead and fill it with air.![]()
