Why do you need to shorten it? Is it steel or ali? Is it cast or billet or tube? Could you bend it instead of welding?
Can't ride for shit, but I fall really good!

WHS they are usually made the correct height, why do you want to muck around with it??
need it shortened coz i had to lower my bike an inch, dont have an oxy so i cant bend it

get a soupys from Rated R parts
RatedR Custom Motorcycle Parts
Infinitely adjustable
i already got another kickstand, rated r doesnt have one for my bike maybe i will try gav if anyone got the address of gd engineering?

is it cast, mild steel or Alli ?
pretty sure is cast

going to be a shit to weld if it was mild i could do it but doubt i will be able to get a good weld with my welder and my oxy is out of gass to braze.

Gav is away a lot atm. PM him but if he's away it could be a awhile before he can get back to you.
Some say he eats sidchrome for breakfast
Some say he only showers on even days of the week
Some say he put an R1 motor in a coffee machine
All we know is he's Hewie.
Angle grinder ftw
My mate put motard wheel on his bike and didn't shorten the side stand. The wind blew and it fell over. This made him very sad. Bending it will probably make it stick out like dog's boner.

i needa get it done before 3rd december
If you bring the stand to me I could probably do it with the oxy set. Just cut the foot off the end, cut a section off then braze the foot back on.

i was thinkin gettin it arc welded, dunno if brazing would be strong enough
Ive shortened a couple of Hyo stands before and its just mild steel. Its a pretty easy mod. Happy to do for you one weekend but im down in Port Kennedy. Let me know if you get stuck.
Why me? I was being overtaken when you had the radar on me!!!
^^ Can vouch for Matt.He did the stand on ma Gixxer for me. Great job.
SmileIt makes people nervous!
Just take it to any engineering company and they will be able to do it for you in a couple of minutes. It cost me $10 to get it done. hey just cut an inch out near the bottom and then welded it back together
