    Speed Triple Pipes

The new bike sounded like a sewing machine when I bought it so I had to wack on the Triumph racing pipes. ..now I've got a spare set of brand new original pipes sitting in the shed collecting dust.

I believe after letting the bike idle for 8 minutes the computer will reprogram to the new pipe/s. Is it possible to remove the insides of the original mufflers or somehow modify these for use say on a track day or something.... or any ideas on other mods other than using them for a boat anchors ?

Looks to me like removing the innards of the original pipes is a lot of tricky work. I seen pics of it done & there was a lot of v.careful grinding going on & I wasn't convinced of the end result.
I have also heard of someone here in Perth taking a big fuck-off drill bit and drilling out the original pipes by going straight down the the guts - dunno what they sounded like afterwards. I ain't got the balls to do this to mine but I'd consider doing it to your old pipes if they're going to waste.
Failing that, it would be worth chucking them up on eBay, they should fetch a few bucks.

With the current carries on lately of the boys in blue I'd wrap them up and put them in a corner in the shed just in case you need to run over the pits again.

I don't know about "automatically retuning" but the triumph shop can put a map in for the triumph sports pipe or whatever they call them.

Can all so do it yourself with tuneboy, i have done quite a bit of fiddling with it on a 955i. It is great only down side is no one will let you use it on there dyno. You could have a look on the triumph forums see if anybody has gutted the pipe and has a map.
