speedo options for 1989 GSXR 1100

    Hi Brains trust,

I've got a 1989 GSXR 1100 and the speedo needle has snapped off and the odometer is no longer working.

I've posted on find a part but there have been no replies of any speedo gauges in stock.

Anybody got an idea where I can get a replacement or what options I have to Frankenstein something in?

    Thanks in advance,

    T

There are a couple of automotive instrument specialists in perth might be worth seeing what they can do. The cheap and cheerful option is a Pushbike speedo if you hunt around you can find one with backlighting and you'll actually be legal. There are also a number of generic electronic dashes specifically for motorcycles available. The other option is to look into other Suzukis ( the Bandit 1200 comes to mind) and see if your speedo is very close the Bandit was made right up until the early 2000's so you have a good change of finding a second hand unit.
