My new cable came in today, worked fine. Found out my bike is already loaded with the appropriate tune (Jardine pipe and it's using the TORS slip-on map).
Damn.![]()
If Mr Bean is busy, I could buy yours Randomman!
Found one for a lowly $13 but I just cbf'd waiting 2-3 weeks for delivery.
Soo.... got a competition werkes pipe fitted. got tuneECU loaded up, opened a map i downloaded, unchecked the O2 sensor box, downloaded the map to the ECU, started the bike and the CEL is still there...? Am i missing something? the O2 eliminator plug they provided seems to be wrong... as its exactly the same as the plug i'm meant to plug it into!
So you're saying that the two plugs are the same sex (male/male or female/female) and you can't use the eliminator or that you've plugged it in OK but it just looks a bit funny? Pics? My understanding is that all the plug does is trick the ECU into thinking the O2 sensor is still attached so probably just provides some appropriate resistance or something (not a sparky, can you tell?).
Have you done the reset to get the new map accepted and is the bike running OK?
yea the same sex. done what reset? yea the bike seems to be running fine. the CEL is gone now... which i think is odd as i've read on the triumphrat forum some others have also had the CEL light go out after riding awhile. shouldn't it go off straight away or stay on through out? why does the lamp go out after a period of time?
Well firstly, I'd say that if you've unchecked the co2 sensor then the supplied plug is irrelevant anyway, since you've already told the ECU that there is no sensor. There is therefore no need to fool the ECU. So throw that over your shoulder.
The reset I referred to depends on bike and ECU type and I can see that since I used it last more bikes have been added. The relevant bit is ...
Reset Adaption prior to version 1.9.6 Reset TPS (Keihin) exept KTM
After downloading (Fig. 12), a reset of the adaption is required.
Turn off and on the ignition, wait ten seconds and turn ignition off again.
Now turn on the igniton again.
Wait until with the connection re-established with TuneECU proceed :-
<Menu> ECU Reset Adaption
Then start the engine and let idle until the “TPS” status indicator (in the status bar) changes to green (after 10 to 15 minutes).
Aprilia & Triumph Sagem
1. In the Test mode, double-click Reset TPS.
2. Turn off the ignition.
3. Turn on the ignition.
4. Start the engine and let it idle for one minute without touching the throttle.
I had to do the reset for the Keihin which took about 7 minutes of idling (2009 St3R) before the TPS status indicator went green. I never had a CEL as I unchecked the sensor box while I had the sensor out and re checked it when the new sensor arrived. There may be a way of removing the CEL, but given yours seems to have gone and the bike is running ok it sounds like all is good. If you want to be sure then RTFM and go through the sequence as written.
TPS reset Dimlight
^From another forum^It will give you a warning and accept and continue. Once it finishes the map is saved!
I recommend resetting the TPS everytime you change the map. You can skip this step if you want, but the bike might be hesitant, run a bit choppy
until it "learns" the new map.
After you upload your new map do the following.
1. Turn off the bike and wait 10 seconds.
2. Turn on the bike, but don't start it.
3. Select "Reset TPS" from the pull down menu under the "ECU" tab
4. Say ok to the next couple of prompts.
5. Once it says, "TPS Reset" Fire up the bike and let it idle.
6. On the bottom left corner of the TuneECU Interface you will see a blue and green arrow circle glow in about 5 or less minutes.
7. After about 10 minutes the box next to TPS at the bottom left of the TuneECU Interface will be green. Then you are ready to go!
Thread revival.
Anyone had their bike dyno tuned in perth using the TuneECU software??

I tried to find someone in Perth but couldn't. ALthough I think bike and tyre doctor will let you use their dyno and will let you play with it. But obviously the more time you spend playing the more money they make. You'd have to ring them to check to see if that is the case. I don't think they have any expertise in Tune ECU.

Hit up Brett over at TMS. View Profile: Tokyo Motorsports - Perth Street Bikes. He did one of my bikes with TuneECU and the other with Tuneboy. He knows his stuff.

Yep, TMS have tuned up quite a few Triumphs, including a 675 Daytona race bike and a Supercharged Speed Triple.
^^ PM sent to Brett, cheers Mr Bean!

You might be better off giving him a call because he's not on here much and I think at the moment he's only working Mon, Tues and Wed while he recovers from his accident. Contact Us

Brett at TMS recently did my Daytona with Tuneboy (I already had a license), the results were great. Well worth it over my attempts with the existing maps for Tunecu. The dyno time is money well spent as is the added features available thru Tuneboy (selectable maps, launch control).
Anyone got a cable, some experience with the program and a few mins to spare this week> Keep getting the fault light from the exhaust valve, want to disable it and be done with the thing. forgot about it with the bike sitting in the shed, and being race day next day next sunday, would like to sort it before then. Yeah yeah, i know, slack arse should have bought a cable ages ago![]()
