What do I call/where do I get an agressive throttle thingi

Wanna have a fast response, aggressive, whatever throttle control. More mm per degree like what Moto X guys have. What do I call it in english and is there a supplier we can recommend? There is usually a medium one that is already called superfast blablabl but then there is also the extreme version. Driving a 150cc I need the xtreme version that probably nobody stocks?!

I think you mean a quick turn throttle (i.e. 1/6 turn to WOT)?

A few have done a DIY mod using R1 or R6 throttle tubes.

    aka 1/4 turn throttle.

alternately transplant your current throttle onto another engine. Something like, well, pretty much anything bigger than a 150.
rharris and Max Power like this.

I have read of something similar using a cable tie instead of the PVC pipe.

Hehe good one, won´t happen though. Just got one from a dirtbike shop. Had a look for the mods, but haven´t got enough space in there so had to have a whole assembly.

When using an R1 or R6 throttle tube on another bike, does this give you the same movement as and R1/R6 or less? The only way I can see it giving you less movement is if the new throttle tube is cut and doesn't meet at the cut after installation.

The reason I ask is that I find R1/6's still need a much bigger tube!

If you run a 07-12 R6 tube in an 07-08 R1 it becomes a quick turn due to the larger diameter. Thats what is fitted on my race bike. It is so much better than standard.

Similiar thing here with the daytona. Swapping out the current tube for a 1050 will result in the same movement for a 1050 (closed to WOT will have the same rotation, NOT the same power response as they're are different machines obviously, the daytona has a huge rotation before reaching wot. It would be beneficial to do a bit of research on whichever motorcycle you're considering changing to see if there is any simple swap-over models though

Bugger was hoping it was the other way around. Seems pretty common to put an R6 throttle on many other brands too. Looks like I'll have to get fiddly with it and try the PVC pipe.
Gutsy question. You're a shark. Sharks are winners, and they don't look back because they have no necks. Necks are for sheep.

    Hijacking thread quickly....

Is it much screwing around to do this mod?

I spoke to a guy that had put a R1 thingo onto his blackbird (the blackbird you almost need to take a second bite to get the throttle all the way around).. he loved it..

    Q1: pretty basic mod?

Q2: any R1 or are there differences between years/models?

IMHO I wouldn't butcher or fiddle with the stock throttle tube

For the r1 should be quick turn throttles available. Generally a case of opening up right hand switch block an disconnect cables off old one an put new one on.
