ZX6R stunt bike

Just a quick one.

I have the op to buy for a block of Mids a heap of ZX6R parts inc swingarm, wheels and front end. The plastics are fucked on one side and the tank rooted.

I have been watching the threads about stunting for a bit now and was thinking of building a stunt bike. I really dont want to try any tricks on my '99 R1 coz it is bog stock, immaculate, and I want to keep it that way.

I was thinking that I couldnt go wrong price wise building a stunta on the cheap from wreaker parts plus the bits that I can get.

What I want to know is, is the old ZX6R suitable for this or should I look elsewhere?

I have no stunting experience, but have plenty of patience and with the right bike (with crashbars etc,) should be able to hurt myself just enough to achieve something.

What year mate?
The 03-04 636s (and the 05-06, to a lesser extent) are becoming the bike of choice, now that the f4is are getting older and harder to come by.

Honestly though, if you're just looking at starting out, it doesn't really matter too much what bike you're on. Sure, certain bikes will be slightly easier to learn on, and certain bikes will be easier to find stunt parts for (cages/12 bars/etc), but if a bike comes in at the right price, and isn't completely inappropriate, it'll be fine for learning how to do wheelies.

It probably would be a little heavier than the more popular stunt bikes, but still fine for learning on.

I just had a quick search, and it'll probably be a bit harder to find cages and stuff for it, because most companies only cater for 98+, but that doesn't mean you can't get a mate that's handy with a welder to knock stuff out for you.

thats from sport riding techniques btw

you can also see a zx6r doing a nice standup wheelie at the street race in fast and the furious number 1
there is a couple of zx6r's being high chaired among other things in the early judgement day stunt video as well

Sweet. I guess that "Project Unco" is unofficially launched. The official launch will be when I get the bike onto a bench and see exactly what I have got. This will be the 3rd bike that I have built from scratch, but the first jappa. I hope you guys are dedicated to being harrassed for information...

Good move mate - here for mechanical bits, probably "that other site" for the stunty shit like cages etc.

But just get it running first.
