    zxr250 conclusion.

so my bike broke down the other week and i had to leave it on the side of the road to goto work. jimmyboy had stored it since then and i got it back the other day.

i lost my 10mm socket so couldnt get the head off at first so i took off the bottem case where i found 3 or 4 small chucks of metal abit smaller then a pea. i knew that ment something bad had happened. so today i got a new socket and pulled the head and here is wat i found.

this is the valves for the piston with the hole.

im not the most kwonledged but i was under the impression that when a piston has a hole in it its normaly from hitting a valve or something like that , but the head doesnt look like its been impacted.

the other 2 pistons have some wear on them and the 4th piston has no damage.

whats everyones thoughts on this. im not sure wats happened.

yeah it was rattling, i have a spare engine here that im putting back together, fucken cams are giving me the shits though cant seem to get them to line up properly when i tighten the cage. if this engines no good ill either sell it off and buy a cheap car to get to work with or ill try save for a new engine from over east. but i cant save when transperth take all my money. $10 to get the train from rockingham to south perth. my old mazda 626 with over 400,000k on it used to get there and back for about $8. what a joke.

i was doing some research and found that if the engine is running lean on a hot day the spark can melt a hole in the piston or something. and the first thing i noticed when i got the bike back was traces of coolant around the water pump as if it had been leaking and the coolant was low.

valves look very lean and looks like detonation on the pistons that aren't holed. could be a big timing issue.
There are two questions in life.
    1:Which way do I go
    2:Whats the lap record.
