Been getting prices for Trade in with the ZZR and outta no where third gear has started playing up on me When i say playing up it won't stay in third All the others are fine, no problem... Really pissed me off, had i just gone ahead and bought the Busa instead of holding off to see what the ZX14 is gunna be like then the problem would have been someone else's

Oh well, so I guess this is gunna put a whole new light on trade in price. Cannot be without transport as it's my ride to work so cannot exactly get it repaired at the moment unless I take some annual leave but thats gunna suck being off work and no bike !!!

Anyone know what it's gunna cost to either get repaired or how much it's gunna drop the trade in price ?

    Cheers

Don't blame us for making you hold back on the buy you know you really have to wait and explore all the options (you'll be pleased you did) just a darn shame the ZZ has decided to play funny games, hope you get it sorted without too much trouble, might be a simple fix for the shop.

Do they actually go for a ride on the bike when they trade it? If they have been servicing it all along they might not.

Any bike i've ever traded, they have never taken for a ride.

However, they have asked me if there is anything wrong with it......you would just have to think of a nice way to word it I suppose.

Yer well prolly my one 'failure' in life is being too honest, cannot lie for shit Have had 1 quote already a little over $1k Motor needs to come out to fix it apparently...

I'd much rather be honest and upfront on a trade in against a new bike, less likley to have problems with warranty issues etc.

Oh well, maybe just sell her privatly cheap and cop it in the hip pocket.

$1000.00 get fucked!!!!!!!!! Any decent mechanic should be able to remove a motor from a ZZR in under 2 hours..

Sounds like you may have a worn selector fork. If you had a workshop manual you could do the work yourself. It's been a long time since I've had to do any work to a motor like this, last time was on my GPZ 1000RX. Wasn't very hard. Good luck with it which ever way you go with it..

i agree sounds like a worn selector fork, since you are planning to trade it you dont want to rebuild the entire box

give this guy a call- derek 0438926511 he is a pretty straight shooter and an excellent mobile mechanic. tell him your story including that you dont want to keep the bike and see what he says
