    OK folks...

I have just had a few messages from people interested in GPS & bike alarms so I will put up some info for anyone who is interested and to get a feel for numbers if required for a group buy.

This is a link to the GPS system

    http://www.ezitrak.com.au/index.html

what it doesn't say is that on a pre-paid SIM card, you can't access from the internet. With a SIM on a phone plan, You pay $99 bi-annually and get 100 credits. Each time you log onto the web, it will remove one credit from your account. This however will allow you to track your baby in real time on a map!!

Might even give you an insurance discount but don't quote me on that

Individual price is $1580 installed (+ SIM card)installed for Joe Bloggs off the street but I have been told that I WILL get a discount for a group buy.

I will be able to do $1400 for PSB people because I'm really nice *cough cough* but hopefully can get a bigger discount if the numbers are there.

I will speak to my boss to see if I can do the first one at cost just so people can see it in action.
Would have to be a certified member though (sorry all others )

This is the link to the alarm system

    http://www.laserline.it/eng/catalogo_categ...?id_categoria=4

This set up is worth $439 installed... but once again, I'll see what I can do

Neat, but seems quite a bit more than the bike bandit that was reviewed on this site..

    I realise that.
Ashley Electrical are the direct importers. Very hard to beat in that sense.
I think they charge around $1300 to get one fitted.
I'm trying to get crafty and get down to maybe $1100ish.
As I said, just trying to do what I can and see what I can get as a top deal!!

Myself having a wholesale account at Ashley's, I'm hoping to get a really, really good deal!!

    Good luck

I'd definitely be looking at a GPS system to track my bike

    So you pay for:
    • the alarm $1000+
    • installation $400 (ish)
    • 'membership' for tracking $50 per year
    • a mobile phone for my bike... $360 per year

That does seem pricey... but might be a top idea if you can't get insurance.

Did a quick compare on the models and it didn't list that you can shut the bike down... Is that a feature or tracking only?

you can get a data bundle card for bike bandits.

they are 5.95 a month and standard 20c per sms ... billed just like your moble phone.

a far cheaper option and with no fear of running out.
Some say he eats sidchrome for breakfast

Some say he only showers on even days of the week

Some say he put an R1 motor in a coffee machine

All we know is he's Hewie.

    I think I will get them for $900 - $950.
Install will be at about $150
$99 Bi-annually=$198 annually. (this is optional if you wish to track your bike in real time on a map. Like the display on a navigation system.)
I also want to put the question out to anyone here who works in insurance if this would generate a discount if I am able to get this recognaised as a government approved item. I have channels at work where I can apply for this but an initial idea from an insurance rep would be great.
I have also spoken to Rojone and they assure me that you can immobilise the bike via GSM. It is also able to make the headlight and indicators flash if you connect them via a couple of 87a relays at install time.

apparently yes .. u can remote immobilise your bike ...

when done the bike surges a couple of times then cuts out.

and yes you can flash lights and sound alarms via mobile too
