    *****UPDATED 18TH MAY*****

As per AndyG's post on the 3rd page of this thread (please have a read of it for further info), this group buy is for a HEL braided brake line 3 line kit for just $115 AU. This is *incredibly* cheap, with the best other offer so far being over half as much again. All colour options as seen on HEL UK website are available.

According to Andy, the lines are approved for use on Australian roads and also carry an international warranty.

To give you an idea how cheap this is, the normal price through an Australian dealer for a 3 line HEL kit is $230!

This group buy will run for another week or so before we place the order. Cash is required before the order is placed obviously, but the money side of it will be sorted out next week.

We are now confirming orders, if you are interested please post in this thread (click me!)with the following information (in this format exactly to keep it neat).

    Bike Make:
    Bike Model:
    Bike Year:
    Line Colour:
    Fittings Colour:

2 line kits (1 front, 1 rear ONLY, *not* 2 front) for 250s are also available for $100, so are 4 line kits for those with hydraulic clutches for $160.

*NOTE - If you have already confirmed your order on KSRC of PR please do not confirm it here also.*

    cheers guys,
    Kris

    ****************************

After the successful carbon fibre group buy and then seeing how popular the kettenmax has been, just wondering if anyone would be interested in a braided brake lines group buy? While you can pick up braided lines extremely cheap off ebay, most of the time they are not ADR approved, hence you are running the risk of getting one of those pretty yellow stickers etc.

I would only be looking at ADR approved lines for this group buy if it goes ahead.

Unfortunately I doubt any where in Australia will be able to match the price of Non-ADR approved ones from ebay etc, but hopefully if we get enough people interested we will still be able to get quite a big discount.

I am mainly looking at either HEL or Goodridge lines at the moment since both are ADR approved and very well known brands. They also both come in lots of pretty colours to keep everyone happy. From what I have read, they perform pretty much exactly the same. HEL lines do seem to be slighly cheaper then Goodridge lines. Personally I would lean towards HEL but I am all ears if people think someone else is better etc.

Sample of HEL colours (they do both coloured lines and coloured fittings)

Small sample of Goodridge colours (they just do coloured lines)

This poll is just to see how much interest there is at the moment, if we get enough people who are keen I will start scoping out prices from different places.

Please only vote if you are genuinely interested.

EDIT: (I should add that the guarenteed to get this price poll option is only guarenteed with HEL lines, I havent confirmed that I can get Goodridge for that price yet but I am sure we will be able to )

If you get enough for the HEL ones, you should be looking at around $160 (2 lines) for a group buy.

There are some HEL's in the for sales for a '05 - ZX6R if any ones interested, they haven't been listed as sold yet.

A no-no? Think you have heard wrong dude I dont think I have ever heard 1 bad thing about braided lines (I may be wrong though so if someone knows a badside please point it out). They improve your brakes (feel/power), last longer, dont expand when hot etc, and look trick etc. And if you get ADR approved ones then they are completely legal.

Goodridge generally do a alloy end, where as HEL do a stainless/titanium end.

I'm interested. Goodridge or HEL doesn't worry me, just so long as I save money

I'm in for sure. I was gonna buy some anyway so if you can get a good deal Kris that'd be wicked.

I haven't heard anything bad about either of them so happy to go with whichever type you think is best. I'd go for front and rear for the blade ta mate

Sweet we are off to a nice start. I reckon we should get at least 15 people which should give us fairly good bargaining power.

C'mon people everyone needs good brakes! Geez they are even a good mod for 250's really (probably the best mod - its to hard to make em go harder so you may as well make them stop quicker ).

Fairly sure most bike manuals state rubber brake lines etc should be replaced after 5 years anyway (well mine does), so if you have a pre 2001 model bike with stock lines nows your chance!

I believe both HEL and Goodridge custom make each order so guarenteed to fit pretty much any bike!

Just for interests sake, I got 3 new goodridge lines with stainless steel ends landed to my front door via a ebay store in the UK for under $200 AUS. If you guys aren't getting much better than that PM me and I'll dig up the store I got them from (hell, they may be able to do a group buy for you)

Alright I have pretty much confirmed we can get a 3 line HEL kit for $200 now already with the numbers we have. More interest from here will just make things cheaper still so come on people buy your bike a present.

Depending on the amount of interest the order will be placed either at the end of the month, or this time next month so you have plenty of time to scrape the cash together.

By the way, +1 to the 'braided lines are awesome' crew. Having recently fitted I can tell you they make an awesome difference with no negatives (unless you consider endos during hard braking a negative)

kris - Andy, the guy who runs the nsr-world forum, lives down the road from HEL in the UK and gives a REALLY good price on braided lines from the nsr-world online store. (we are talking 50 pound for a 3 line set on stocked lines - thats about $145 and I think they accept paypal (so no currency change charges) .
He can pretty much get any set you want tho (not sure if the price would be quite as low)
He's also a really helpful guy, so I suggest sending him an email to see what he can do.
    www.nsr250.net/marketplace/

even if he cant do better than his regular price, a group buy through him would probably still save on postage, and there are some other trick goodies on there too.

No amount of genius can overcome a preoccupation to detail.

Thanks for the info mate, I have looked at getting lines from overseas before, the only problem with that is they wouldn't be ADR approved which is something I *really* want and am prepared to pay a bit more for (I have enough reasons to get stickered as it is ).
