After a few different threads recently, as well as conversations with different people, I thought I would throw this out there.

    Proposal:

A group buy on 520 chain conversion kits, using either AFAM or Renthal sprockets, and DID chains. Obviously gearing would be to your choice, but generally the DID chain would be an X-ring model.

    Websites for you info....

    Renthal Sprockets

AFAM Sprockets (no AFAM Site ATM)

    DID Chains

As stated, this is an Expression of interest only, open for 2 weeks. Upon rough numbers, stores would be contacted, and prices established. Speedo Healers may also be added to this as well. Check the poll.

    Great work Tim.

I'd be in for the 520 group buy - Maybe even the tools to go with it like here? http://stores.ebay.com/SUM-OF-ALL-PARTS-STORE - If no tools, no dramas.

    ok couple of questions
first cant you get em to fit a hyosung gt650R

secondly could some explain the difference or the gains so to speak of -1,+2 , -1+1 ??
the more pins u go the more acceleration ?

    thx

Front sprocket: - teeth = better acceleration, worse top speed
rear sprocket: + teeth = better acceleration, worse top speed

Being not that far off a 250 tho, I wouldnt recommend changing your ratios too much, you need as much top speed as you can

well u see thats one of the reasons i wanna try this out
    1 get more acceleration

2 drop the top speed so i cant lose my license quite as fast
or so i dont get caught going way too fast

but more just coz id rather a bike with quick accleration than top speed

and what do ya mean not that far of a 250 its almost 3 times the engine capacity ??? or do ya mean opnly just coming of a 250 ?

yeah best not to fiddle with the ratios on a 250... unless you never cruise on the freeway on country

    (my 250 used to do 11k rpm @ 110km/h)

lee, Pkunk, I'm pretty sure he was saying that the sprockets were to be for a 650 if you look at his first post.

Skitz, do you know if the Hyosung uses the same sprockets as the Suzuki SV650? It would just be a matter of finding another bike with the same bolt pattern/diameter and using that as your specifications.

Are you on any other forums for the Hyosungs?

i mean it wasnt that long ago i upgraded to a big bike, so i still have valid experience with the "speed" of a 250. i hear those gt250r's only do like 130 in top, do you really want to make it 110-120?

i've seen cheap deals on vortex sprockets n stuff. also heard they're no good.

just for the record, i'm only interested in D.I.D and AFAM stuff. I'll pay the extra for them too

not meaning to sound like a cock or anything, and i'm not personally pulling you out of the crowd (this is addressed at everyone) but having organised a pretty big group buy, its pretty unhelpful to hear 'depends on price'

a better response would be; list how much you're willing to pay, so atleast when the organiser is trying to negotiate prices 'if you can give me a price of 100 per chain, i can swing 15 chains worth of business your way'
