Congrats Lit you are a tool...
It's becaus of cheapie units like that, that a GB has been arranged to get realistic price on a far better unit, that won't fry in a few weeks, or require replacing every 6-12 months

    Geez...

The GB is for a certain make/model. Don't like/want it? Stay away then.
    Don't undermine/deride Tim/Hewie's efforts organising GB's for PSB'ers.

I was not criticizing the trickle chargers mentioned (I am sure they are made of higher quality) and I certainly don't mean to discredit the organizers of group buys. I was just suggesting other options to people.

The one I have is going strong and has so far spent its life outside with the elements. If it does break it is under a 3 year warranty.
    Spoiler: show

In all fairness I don't think Lit was shitting on this buy, which is a bloody good one. As far as I know, the Cteks are the only units actually rated for outdoor (ie weatherproof) use. I have what I guess is a cheap Ctek copy, which altho has a rubber gasket sealing the shell, specifically states it is not rated as such.
I have used Smegs Ctek 800 to bring a car battery back to life that conventional chargers just gave up on, so they are capable of more than just maintenance given time.
As I said earlier in this thread mine has also recovered an otherwise dead battery. Either way, esp with the price offered for this buy, it's a damn sight cheaper than a new battery! Plus the charge cycles WILL make your battery last longer.

ive skipped to page 3,will go another BUT battery world will do trickle chargers with charge attachments for $50.
if there is a "better" brand for $10 more i will happily pay it.

    so i voted $60.

I would be interested in a brace (that's 2 for people that don't go pheasant hunting) of good quality pulsing/maintenance chargers just like the Ctek one.

Motivation alone is not enough. If you have an idiot and you motivate him, now you have a motivated idiot.

I've got a Ctek Mulit XS 3600 along with the comfort indicator (!), with the comfort indicator staying on the bike. It's a plug with some LED's on it indicating battery condition. Haven't had much need to use it yet but it has performed (which you'd expect). Had a Projecta AC150 (which I threw in with a bike I recently sold) which I'd used quite a bit over the years, both on bike and car batteries and it did punch above its weight quite well.
Click here to see my Ducati 999R in the PSB garage... You'll love it!

Don't click here to see my ZX9R aka The Ginger Ninja... there's no link!

Cteks and some copies have permanent attachments to the battery posts with a quick connect socket (usually with weatherproof bung). So you just wire it in and rout for easy access etc...

Only thing is I'm not sure if it can used in the rain, (sealed charger etc) apart from that i think its a top unit.
