GB: Easy Trailers: They are Here.....

Ok, This is a GB open for easy trailors East Trailer Website

We would be getting 5% off the list price, and consolidating shipping to further reduce the cost(Everything sent to a single address).

You need to identify what trailer you want, as well as the accessories (if any). I have spoken to them, and they are willing to field your questions/queries to ensure you get exactly what you want.

    Catalogue PDF

Once you have your details sussed, post up here the trailer, accessories etc, and I'll confirm the price, and send you a pm for payment details (payment required by the 16th November). These trailers will arrive before the 7th of December (They have a 2 weeks delivery from placement of the order).

Trailer costs do not include registration or licensing, which is something you would be required to do once they arrived.

If there are any additional questions, please post them up.

    Cheers

Does anyone have one of these trailers and can comment on their durability/construction quality?

IMHO the one to go for would be the bare bones 6x4 chassis and fit it out yourself and save $$$

Sorry, but it took a week to get it up and running

I nearly ordered one, but thought it might be worth a GB to save on Delivery, that being said you buggers who want in don't mess around paying up, get your dollars in, we need our trailer ready to take with us at Xmas so therefore need time to asemble and register etc.

ok..as far as i can ascertain from the dpi/licencing website....its pretty confusing, to say the least
    inspection fee...$58.10
    temporary movement permit...$12.55
Standard fee..$7.72 per 100kg GVM (maybe $12 for 850TAB trailer, may need a weighbridge cert as well for pits....)
    Recording fee....$10.15
    Presribed flat fee...$13.20
Stamp duty..... @ $21.00 (2.5% of purchase price)
    Third party insurance..$5.70

all up about $140 to rego the trailer here..that should be for 12 months, and from memory when i last owned a trailer, about $40 a year from then on

I got the trailer I'm currently using rego'd. Cost me $85 for the inspection and $38 for the registration, so Envee's estimate of $140 is pretty much on the mark.. These things fold up, so if someone has an existing trailer, like me.... everyone could borrow that to be able to take it down to the pits and walk it across, saving themselves $13.....

Hmm. I'd been thinking about getting something like this. I've had a look at the brochures.

Looks pretty simple getting them registered. Already have your compliance plates, I didn't notice mention of it on the site but, from the photos, it seems they come with wired brake/indicator lights.

ENVEE 2 pretty much has it spot on. Before you all rock up at the pits at 5 am with a novel and coffee flask make sure you've already arranged a 48 hour temporary permit so that it's already been weighed in advance (BlackFZR's idea is awesome too). Can order the temp permit/inspection over the phone by credit card rather than popping in.

Once the guys have inspected your trailer it's a matter of proving ownership.

I'm hoping this part is going to be straight forward: Basically in an ideal situation we're hoping for individual invoices that clearly state that it was sold brand new by Easy Trailer, or whatever they trade as, to whoever the new owner is, for delivery to whoever arranges the group buy. They should also have the VIN that corresponds with the trailer on the invoice, full cost before and after GST and dates when this all happened. Even better if there are individual receipts that tie themselves to said invoice or a printed "Paid in full" acknowledgement to make sure everyone is happy.

You pay stamp duty on the whole lot, including any extras. On the bright side, given at this price you're only paying at 2.75% it's not going to slug you all that hard. Other than that a new plate is $11.30 and I'm pretty sure once a trailer exceeds a 100kg threshold it instantly gets classed in the next one, but I've never really had to check.

For those of you who don't like gracing us with your presence all too often, you can pay by cash, cheque (Please trying to avoid writing cheques up in advance unless you're authourised to change them if need be), and Eftpos with pretty much anything other than Amex or Diners.

Unfortunately I probably won't be able to join in on this group buy on the grounds that I'd have to arrange for a new tow bar first (We sold our old box trailer, then the car that we used to tow it and haven't replaced it since). If anyone knows of a good place to get a tow bar fitted could you give me the heads up so I can get talking to them in case through the magic of credit cards I can get things sorted out in time to join in?

With the trailer I bought I opted not to have a spare wheel. Unnecessary weight I reckon. Hopefully I'll never need it!
