Hi all,

After buying one of these helmet cameras for my own use, I have decided to add them to our range of accessories - as with everything Im willing to offer them to forum members at a good price too :-)

The details (from Oregon Scientific):

ATC2K Waterproof Action Cam (AT18)

Take your adventure home with ATC2K, the ultimate waterproof action cam! Weighing in at half a pound (with batteries), this self-contained, hands-free digital video cam delivers full color digital video in 640 X 480 VGA at 30 frames per second - even underwater.

Snow, Rain, or a dunk in a kayak? No worries - ATC2K is waterproof to 10 feet! PC and MAC compatible, ATC2K works seamlessly with most video editing software. Expandable up to 2GB on a standard SD card, ATC2K mounts easily and all mounting hardware is included.

* Full-function, hands-free, digital recording
* Waterproof up to 3 meters and shock-resistant for extreme conditions
* Mounts easily on helmets, handlebars, and other sports equipment
* 640 x 480 VGA resolution at 30 frames per second
* USB and RCA cables included for easy playback on PC or TV (NTSC)
* SD card expansion up to 2GB – onboard memory is 32MB
* Operates with 2 AA batteries, not included
* Dimensions: 4.25L x 1.75D x 2.25H (in.)

Here are some YouTubes from my own camera made in the past few weeks with various bikes and conditions -

So what do they cost?? Well the RRP is $219 including delivery as usual, plus you need an SD memory card to go with.

Im happy to do them for forum members for a limited time for $195

Anyone interested?

How did you go with noise distorting the video image? and how quick can you get them, or do you have them in stock?

As a general rule, the better it felt when you said it, the more trouble it's going to get you into.

I havent had any problems with noise distorting the image - we had some problems with wind noise on the dirt helmet which I have solved with some low density foam. The YouTubes are fairly low res compared to the size of the files, but theyre easier to show people the footage. a 2GB SD card records an hour at the highest res, so if you recorded at a lower (youtube) res you could get hours n hours on one card.

As far as stock goes - I have stock arriving in 2 weeks, although Im working on that as I think I can get that shipment here in about 1 week if things work out.

Same camera. Read post #3. And I paid a fair bit less than 195. There are a fair few available on the market now. I saw a brochure for some computer shop the other day flogging them for 199.

I have one but it is playing up at the moment. Not sure if it is the camera or the card. Gtta get a new card to test it out. Think the vibration mounted on the handlebars might have been a bit much through Balingup to nannup the other day.

All comes down to the DOSH !!

Bugger it. I'll have one. Similar price to round the traps and don't have to run around myself.

I have found that a set of batteries is good for a day (a ride day or a day in the dirt)... best to have a spare set with you...

Without wanting to shit on the thread - these cameras are the same as those sold previously and posted about on PSB. I know I have some more coming and I think there are some still at Harvey Norman Armadale (as organised by EvilHomer). See the original thread on these for pricing although for some reason the search option is not working now so I can't locate the original thread. Will edit this post when I find it.

EDIT: Original thread is here
