There was, what I thought, an excellent idea just posted in another thread. (Thanks Machast)
I'm not sure if it's the first it's been discussed, but hey

How does everyone feel about getting some custom PSB numebr plates organised?
Possibly PSB followed by your member number, or nickname.

If there is interest, I'll volunteer to look in to it, and organise it.

All the info you need is on the DPI website.

    Funraising Plates

    "Sporting Club"

Or give them a ring, I organised a fundraiser set in the past and they were helpful and it was pretty much trouble free.

I dont want to sound like a seer of doom, but i think something like this could blow up in our faces big time. As nice as it would be to publicly display your loyalty to a club or group, it could easily turned against us and make the unsafe roads we travel even worse. If 2 or 3 people got personalised plates, no one would care, but 20 or 30 or more did, one of our favorite papers or current affairs programs would find out soon enough and wouldnt ya know it, we would be a gang! suicidal hoons with no respect for the law!, Then Joe cage driver would be following us and try that little bit harder to run us off the road coz he could recognise us apart from the other bad but not quite as bad motorcyclists. If one of ever did anything outside the law, like 5k's over the limit, or highly unlikely but someone might lift a front wheel off the ground accidentally and good samaritan joe in his car saw it, he would be onto the coppers say it was one of those psb idiots.
So as nice as the idea sounds, sorry but i wouldnt support it.

It has been discussed before ... and it was knocked back for the exact reason noted above. It would become too easy to make targets of ourselves.

Some say he only showers on even days of the week

Some say he put an R1 motor in a coffee machine

It was a good idea .. and Im not trying to detract from that ... but unfortunately with all the attention we get its prolly not the best.

I refuse to get a custom for just that reason.

Good effort, Ryan, in trying to get something going - but unfortunatley the negatives seem to outway the positives...

Don't let it stop you in raising ideas tho'!!!
I can't think what more you could possibly need to know... except maybe this:

You can do that if you want, at the end of the day it just makes you more identifiable.

And I think you are restricted to 7 letters. Let us know how you go though.

My thought exactly, Not that I break the law or condone it.
The rider that was caught at an excessive speed between Mandurah and Bunbury was only identified because of a personal plate being easier to read and remember, the bike with him was never caught due to the plate not being read or remembered.

It's better to be thought stupid than open your mouth and remove all doubt

Pure speed in sixth gear on a 5,000 foot straightaway is one thing, but pure speed in third gear on a gravel-strewn, downhill, ess turn is quite another.

I'll have to agree with the naysayers, I'm afraid. For some reason, probably Hollywood's fault, a group of MC'ists is seen as a "gang" by the public, are we're expected to make trouble. Whereas a group of cagers is a "club", and harmless. This is probably the reason fundraiser plates aren't available to bikers.

I saw a MR2 with Freo Dockers plates run a red light the other day..... I know this doesn't make all Dockers supporters reckless drivers. Sadly non-biking cagers think differently to us. PSB plates would be quickly be seen akin to jacket patches worn by Jokers, Cheaters et el, thanks to Today Tonight and their loyal followers.

If you want to support PSB by marking your bike, better to do it in a way that can't be read while the bike's in motion, like a sticker on your fairing.

That said tho..... there's nothing to stop you getting a "PSB-membernum" plate made for yourself
