Is it too late for me to jump on the bandwagon? 8 games of softball in two days tells me I think these would come in handy...

anyone know if these fit a larger chest?
their website does not say if they will strech over or not - it gives a suggestion of size of chest = size of skinz
53" chest

I'm in for a long sleeve top.
I bought the tights last week when I started going to footy training again.
In regards to sizes, the advice give to me was always go on the small side. if you are kinda borderline btw a med and small (like me) go with small. It should be very tight, otherwise, they are of no benefit, and you are just another weirdo wearing spandex

Also quite often you might be one size larger ion the top. I am 6'3" and 90kg and the L tights and XL top fits sweet.

Can anyone give me a good reason why you need Skinz for road racing - other than making it easier to get in and out of leathers?

It also helps get rid of lactic acid build-up between races..... if your not getting lactic acid build-up, your not going fast enough

So i don't need any Skinz then!
but seriously lactate build up shouldn't be occurring in an 8 minute session, unless you have problems utilising oxygen - and/or aren't doing interval training? and doesn't Lactic acid can improve the effectiveness of the muscle by increasing ratio of potassium inside cells to that outside, and this helps the muscle contract with more efficiency - lactic acid isn't all bad.
so - any evidence to support the use of these garments in motorcycle racers? or is it just fashion

Like most things in racing whatever makes you feel comfortable, confident etc etc helps you go faster. Might help ya get the wetsuit on and off too...

Hostile monk has a point here.
In an 8 minute session I dont think you would utilise your aerobic metabolism. Generally anerobic excercise, such as riding a motorbike would not produce lactic acid.
Do any of you guys notice you are holding your breath while ridng on the track? Or at least find it difficult to take decent breaths?
Lack of oxygen would attribute to the lactic acid buildup and consequently the "pain" from lactic acid buildup.
I know this may sound stupid, but try concentrating on controlled breathing and see if you notice any difference.

im no racer, but i wear skins (well actually under armour, same thing, diff brand) under my leathera)
a) i find it more comfy on hot days. dont have any rubbing etc
b) makes getting in and out of leathers soooo much easier
c) when u take a break and take off your jacket you feel sooo much cooler (temp wise i mean). if its really hot just splash some water onto the skins and it evaporates off really quickly cooling u down.

FYI - AMart All sports has a sale on today - Skinz are 25% off at Midland which has Skinz long bottoms for $105 and the long top for $80. Though there are two types of tops one is for $72
They also have 20% off the Nike equivalent - which are cheaper to begin with.
Don't know if other AMart stores have the same prices.
