Well .... we got clipped by Customs.

I have received a bill for 552.04 to release the US Order BASTARDS

Sorry guys. This is the first time Ive been hit with a bill.

Anyway .. the cost is 10% of your order cost.

So ... I need a few extra dollars from folks.

Please check the list below and see how much I need from each person please make sure that if you ordered two items that u add up both amounts. I havent added it all together.

Happened to me with the PCIII group buy.. on the last box.. of 4. Bastards.

As far as I know, if the value of the items in the box is marked as over $1000, they will hold it and charge you. Sometimes it pays to pay a few extra bucks in postage and get it sent in a few boxes. Doesn't really help in retrospect tho, and not sure if you already knew this.

Yeah .. unfortunately .. with this order the ohlins would have to come in groups of two/three to be under the $1000 mark so we would have had like 10 boxes

Its not just goods over a $1000. Its GST on goods & freight. If there is no freight cost stated on the Invoice then they take a guess!

Rob's tips for avoiding GST. (I'm sure you will pay it later like good boys and girls )

1. Get the seller to mark the Invoice CIF. (Basically this is similar to our FIS which says the freight cost is built into the Cost of Goods) and get them to invoice you seperatly for the freight.

2. Keep the amounts under $1000

3. If you cant do get the supplier to do several seperate orders.

Does anyone know how to get an import license? I was under the impresion Australia has a free trade agreement with the US and there was not supposed to be a tax on imports. Obviously this is not the case, but it be interesting to know how it works anyway
