To be complete bastards, a mate got fined for parking in a loading zone, he was in his work vehicle doing a quick repair in a shop that the car park was in front of, saw the nazi prick about to write a ticket and went out. The nazi said that his vehicle was not a "commercial vehicle", yet his station wagon is clearly painted with his business name, logo and phone number.

The arsehat wrote the ticket, my mate fought it at the council offices and it was over turned.
Somehow it's reassuring knowing that I'm not the only one pretending to be normal.

They generally have 'lawful authority' because in most places where clampers operate, you have to agree to their conditions to use the carpark.

Yes - They can only clamp on private premises where it is stated as such by signage, if they were to clamp you on public roads they would be in the shit. But then they aren't worried about the public roads, that's the CoP's area of gouging
Definitely check that there isn't any signage or machines around for tickets and then fight it
I always take a piccy of my vehicle with my mobile Ph now when parking in areas like that even if it's pay and display, that way I have a time record and a record that the ticket was correctly displayed to minimise the chances of one of the low life scum giving a dodgy ticket to make up their quota
Even better I refuse to go to the city or similar unless there is absolutely no option

i disagree , under the CRIMINAL CODE no one has the right to prevent another person going about thier lawfull business, with the exception of members of the western australian police force

Surely parking on private property against their terms of use (for which they wheel clamped you) is therefore unlawful?

And they aren't stopping you from walking away to do your other lawful business.

    Depends on council.

For City of Perth / CBD... yes, this is unfortunately the case.

On the way out of the city today, I had a close look at the signs. The paid ones look just like the one you posted, except they very clearly state "Fee Payable" on them. If it did not say that, then it should be free.

They will say 'fee payable' if they have times free parking at one time, and ticket parking at others.
They say 1P ticket if its only ticket parking.

I normaly park in the motorcycle bays next to the parking signs and never bought a parking ticket cos i didnt think motorcyclists needed to pay for parking since if we displayed it someone would just knick it anyway and display it on there car. But after reading this post i wanted to know if anybody has had there motorbike ticketed for not displaying a parking ticket?
