There is no offence under Australian law that criminalises the act of arriving in
Australia or the seeking of asylum without a valid visa.
if the sign says 1P and has times, thats 1 hour between those times FREE
if it has ticket underneath it, you pay.
outside of those hours is for as long as you like.
if there is NO ticket etc, just the 1P, its FREE.....F.R.E.E
if thats the case, write a letter to the shire, saying what has happened, and it will most likely be overturned...like i have done about 15 times.
by the way, for those playing at home.... F.R.E.E
I got a ticket for parking my bike in a "car" bay.
However im fighting it, letter to the CoPP as well all sent and posted waiting on a reply. Its absurd that I can't park in a bay because my vehicle is a bike, I even paid for a ticket and displayed it in the "dash", no were on the signage does it indicate its for CARS only. bunch o cunts, the lot of them.

I like it. I don't think I've ever seen it state that the vehicle must be a car. Be interested to hear outcome.
Polish, have you got picture of the actual sign where you parked? The one in your post looks like you cut it from somewhere else. There are very few places in CoP that are not fee payable parking during work hours.
Its in city of perth's by-laws. There's no sign to say you can't park your car up on the footpath next to central park, but you'll get a fine if you do.
If cleanliness is next to godliness, why was jesus a dirty sandal-wearing beardo?
Yes but thats stretching it a bit. The footpath is not a designated parking area.
If there is a sign thats states you can park there they should have to notify you that it is for cars only.
Edit: I do note that this is done on the City of Perth website.

There's no way someone will get off it based on that alone.

agreed

road rules aren't displayed on signs either, you're just expected to know them.

I like all your points, however. the sign says parking. it does not say bike parking nor CAR parking it simply says parking. if i paid the 4.50$ or what ever it was, what fucking difference does it make if i park a 747 there, im not outside the "bay" boundries and i have paid the tax to stop my vechicle there.
and road rules, sure thing, we do learn them we must learn them before we get our license. We are also told if we are approaching a 50, 60, 70, 80, 90, 100, 110 zone, weather its one way only, if its commecial vehicle parking only, if its TAXI only parking.
In summary: fuck you CoPp.

Road rules do not vary between "Cities".
Parking is covered by by-laws and vary from "City to City". i.e. Nedlands does not clearly state that motorcycles cannot park in car bays but does state that cars cannot park in motorcycle bays.
True ignorance of the law is no excuse...
You could, but I would suspect that it is covered in the by-laws as an action they are allowed to undertake. On the City of Nedlands website it says to avoid an infringement "never remove chalk marks on tyres".
It would be a bit of a ludicrous argument that they are damaging your bike given that the chalk will easily rub off, or be driven off.

So why do we have speed limit signs? How come the government doesnt just expect people to look up some local laws for the area they are driving through?
