Yea good luck with that ... Its taken me almost a year to get my membership cancellation sorted with them and its STILL not fixed ... only took me 8 months to get a copy of the contract Thats doing well for them in my opinion.

You can try calling their Head Office which is in the Eastern States but to be honest that can be almost as bad as dealing with the individual gyms direct in my personal experience

i had a similar problem with a gym i once attended
tried for almost 6 months to cancel and stop them taking money from my account
in the end i went to the bank and stopped the direct debit payments and all was sweet

i used to work as a pt there, youre trying to cancel your membership? If youve signed it & its out of lieu period, think you can pay a fee to stop it

only as long as its backed up with proof that you are either a. Medically Incapeable to go to the gym or b. moved more than 30ks from a fitness first gym.....

Tell them you want to cancel it over the phone they will try to make you go in. Get the name of the person you are talking to and their position I ended up with a manager. Write down this info down time and date etc etc if you get anything deducted after that ring your bank and put a stop to them.Then make a dispute with the bank over the payment. I did this and Fitness First had to pay me back money Fitness First are lying filthy thieves.

hmmm, so even within the minimum 12 month period? Im happy to do it, but I dont want to get into a legal battle down the line because ive signed a contract and not followed through with it?

How about if I send an email to the manager (who ive been in contact with already) stating that I am cancelling my contract and therefore if any more payments are made that I will be putting in a dispute with the bank?

If you signed a 12 month contract then I'd say you are stuffed if it falls within that 12 months. Mine (wifes) was outside the 12 months. If you wish to cancel mid contract I'd say you will have to read the contract as far as cancelation goes. Make an appointmet to go see them.

i had that issue, my contract ran out with with Fitness First, and so I cancelled it, as it was fun but for what im looking for its not for me. Anywho, they kept taking money out, for 4 months, then I blocked the Direct debit at the bank. They started sending me letters asking for payments. I told my parents about it, and my dad made up some bullshit letter (he wrote it on a napkin for me to type out while we were at sizzlers) that sounded all legallike, and problem was solved, never had an issue again
