    Anyone deal with steal mesh?

I am looking to get some Steel mesh to put on my lawn to stop my dog from running on it as Im trying to regrow it.

Does anyone deal with this stuff or know the best place to get it?

I want about 2mx2m or so but I have no idea where to get it, I was going to check out Bunnings but I wanted to see if maybe people have this as scrap at work or something or know where to get it cheap.

    Thanks everyone.

yep, try anywhere that supplies rebar.

    Bestbar, reomart etc etc

edit: for what you need, some chickenwire or similar would do the job - doesn't have to be anything too fancy. Even just some normal wire strung between a few pegs, back and forth would be enough to deter the dog...

Im Bedford, I have a trailer and stuff so Canning vale isnt a massive issue.

EDIT: Haha Stevo you havent met my Dog, the chicken wire would end up on the other side of the yard and a bit of wire between pegs would get smashed as soon as I turn my back, she sees stuff like that as a challenge.

Well how much do you have?

2 x 2 would be a good size so its easy to transport and move, would you have enough for 2 lots of that? Then if the dog just decides to tip toe through it I can always lay it over each other and offfset it to make the holes smaller.

I can provide the beer of your choice as a swap.

this will cause the lawn not to grow in the shape of the mesh

like so, just raise it on some bricks or stakes and it should be fine - sure it won't look too flash, but will do the job and be off soon enough.

I think we have confused each other,or maybe its just me. I just want to use the stuff temporarily will the grass takes root and grows up a bit, and can with stand the dogs running round.

What stevo just posted is what Im after.

A friend of mine has 3 great danes, who used to rip the bejeesus out of his lawn. Until he got ordinary chicken wire, and buried it about 5cm below the surface. It does 2 things, gives the grass roots something to grip, and when the dogs run on it the wire absorbs most of the lateral forces so you don't get big divots.

His lawn is now lush and green, instead of patchy and sandy.

In life you only get one lap, might as well make it a good one.
