    Anyone here into archery?

Been shooting for a few years now, started at Kalamunda Governor Stirling Archery club (which is a great club for noobies and advanced shooters), and now shoot a 45# Ben Pearson Signature two-piece takedown. She's about 15 years old, but is a lovely bow. Spits out the arrows quick, and doesnt stack for such a short bow.
Here's a picture of her with some flu-flu's.

And a picture of the set of arrows i made up.

If there are many other shooters, i would be happy to go on a shoot, even better if a ride to hoddywell was organised as a country ride, then go into toodyay or something.

I like to shoot horses with my crossbow. Does that count?

There's an organised country run out to the archery place near toodyay (hoddywell?) probably January next year... did the run last year but was stinking hot so didn't get out from under the shelter where there was abundant cake to be devoured had

Went down to the local archery club with a mate, thought we'd hire some and see if we liked it, were told we had to go do courses and shit (ended up like 2 months before we could actually have a go) so we could join a club and shoot a fucking stick. So we went to a gun range instead, within 10 mins of pulling up there I was blasting holes in targets. The end.

    Wait, what!?!
That's really weird, you can shoot whenever you want, you can buy your own gear whenever you want, we're in WA, so you don't even need a license to hunt with a bow!

I studied Kyudo for a year in Japan. Loved it and ended up getting my shodun in it. I bought the bow and arrows home with me but haven't used it since. I also happen to have some poisoned tipped arrows and a blow pipe that were presented to me by a dyak villager in Borneo (none of that fancy pancy stuff - this is a straight out bored length of wood like a broom stick with a spear on the end). Got those through customs somehow (I distracted them with all the Javanese junk that they subsequently confiscated).

I would love to use both at a practice range rather than in the back laneway but just don't have the time. Not even sure I'd remember how either.

I used to be the State Junior (under 18) Champion, and held a couple of Australian records. I was even in the running to go to the Moscow Olympics but, alas, I fell to the sport's politics at the time.
"Once you can have people more frightened of disorder than tyranny, it enables you to do almost anything you like so far as legislation is concerned." Chief Judge Antoinette Kennedy, 26/3/2010.

"The State must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation." Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf
