So my wifes scooter has been loaned to a friend in Perth. At this point we haven't seen the thing, so I'm completely unfamiliar with it.

Chrystal calls me (The friend borrowing it) in something of a confused state. Conversation went something like..

Cam, I need some technical support
Shoot. (thinking she was calling with a computer-related question
I've locked myself out of the scooter.
....come again?
I locked myself out, there was this button thing and I pushed it and...
... but there's no doors to lock yourself out of...
... and this metal guard closed over the keyhole.
You tried pushing it again?
Yeah, it's not doing anything...

So I called The Honda Shop, spoke to Michael who explained the mechanism. I relayed this information back to my friend having her blonde moment.

A completely mechanically minded lass (she was studying race engineering or some such) managing to lock herself off the scooter and not notice the allen key attached to the ignition key to open it again has just made my friday.

Hmm... ok I've read Cameronjones post a few times... I think I've got it.

She locked the ignition. But to unlock it she had to use a special allen key (on the same keyring) to unlock it, so she could insert the actual key and start the scoot.
