Well, I know I said I'd skip it because of the hamstrung functionality in 6.

Turns out the community responsed literally within two hours of release.

So I grabbed it after all, and it is a beautiful thing..

no its not...
It's not your nickname, goto settings/account and its your 'account name'

Orright, sorry guys bailed up for a bit due to exams (got another tomorrow, then Tuesday then a straight 3mths of playing multiplayer ).

A couple more comments:

First an important one - you CAN CHANGE YOUR IN GAME ALIAS FOR THOSE ON PC!!!:
- open up steam, go to File -> Settings -> "Friends" tab.
- In the friends tab is a "nickname" box, you can put what you like in that and it will be your in-game nick.
- Also with the use of the carat button you can change the colour of your name:

^1 - RED
^2 - GREEN
^3 - YELLOW
^4 - BLUE
^5 - CYAN
^6 - PINK
^7 - WHITE
^8 - DEFAULT MAP COLOR
^9 - GREY OR DEFAULT MAP COLOR
^0 - BLACK

So typing ^2taboo^0_ into the nickname box in steam will make your in game alias look like this: taboo_.


Asside from thatI'm really glad they put a bit of effort into the Spec-ops, although it doesn't make up for having a 6hr campaign it definitely helps it's over all longevity.

@Kramer: just my opinion but as for loving the riot shields I feel it breaks the game . They ain't easy to take out in a 1v1 so when I found myself, alone, with 5 dots on my heart beat monitor coming right at me and then realising 4 had sheilds it just turned to chaos .

Oh and it sure is pretty. I've got a fairly gnarly compy but after completing the campaign on full graphics averaging ~30fps I went out and bought a second HD4850 and now have to running in crossfire. That certainly helped .

btw harro you can change your username its easy... u got into the game... then click shift tab open up in game steam click on options and oh wat the first thing change username... change it to watever you want

Awesome game, got it last night. Only wierd thing was for some reason it took over an hour to install from the DVD. I thought it would be a bit quicker than that.

P.S. It really sucks waiting for an hour to play the game you really really wanted to play

Ironically, despite my PC elitism I played it for the first time last night on someone's Xbox. We were using old school AV cables and split screen. It looked and felt like I was playing an N64 game again. Once upon a time I would have gladly done that all night. Now it just feels like an insult to gaming. How the hell do people play FPS with gamepads? Give me PC or give me death.

when i had my 360 i could headshot on cod2 anyone on the screen in almost an instant, after a few weeks of playing it becomes as easy as pc.

+1 on the ps3 can hit people in an instant, some times on the second shot if they're lucky =P
