Digital Photo Printing. Who is the Pro'est/besterest?

So as it goes in the digital photography age it ends up that all your much prized pix end up on your pewter and not in photo frames.

I would like to change this and get a few of my good quality photos of my fam and buds printed and waked in a few photo frames.

The question is.... who is the BEST quality printer of photos?

When i say best quality I am referring to the best company printing on the best paper with the best equipment, not the local photo kiosk with the Colour Epson hidden inside the flash looking box.

Anyone got any good recommendations? I would prefer an online submission company where you can upload, pay by CCard, and they return the prints in the mail.

Why don't you ask DJN Deej? He can do it...... And has done an awesome job of the couple of prints that I got off him, including a blockmount.....

Mate of mine, Adam, has his own Pro Photog bus with their own new minilab (all their stuff except banners is printed in house) that produces great stuff, check my sponsor in my sig.

They don't do online submission but aren't too far away in Malaga.

Fitzgerald's seems to get the biggest rating (by a long way) from the pro/am crew on the Photographers In Perth forum for the smaller stuff (up to A3 I think?), if you're getting into gallery quality/size then it's a whole different game with different gear.

i'll chip in too - i want to get some pics (europe & our wedding) printed large, framed and also some on canvas mounts. same thing, top quality expected and prefer online ordering.

Actually, can anyone help with transferring negatives to a high-res digital image? our wedding pics are on negatives (yeah, we're old!) and I want them all transferred to colour digital high-res images.

Can that be done?

If you have the time, you can also hire a neg scanner from Tech-Rentals - rent Computers, rent Test Equipment, rent Voice Communications, Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia for a couple hundred and do it yourself (otherwise it can get expensive).

I used their gear to process about 60 rolls of film from a trip, was pretty happy with the results and it's fairly automated.

I have to say Camera Electronic 230 Stirling St are awsome for this. They may cost a little more but when you go there you will understand why.
