    Exam Preparation!

Well Exam season is upon us once again and i wana know what you do to prepare in the hours leading up to it?!

Me, Ive Got at exam at 1.30 and its now just past 11, Ive been up cramming whilst drinking red bull and eating doritos and listening to some Hilltop Hoods and Wes Carr (No Homo about it) and some other upbeat sorta stuff which is realy pumping me up and getting me in the mood!

So during this Exam Season, what are you doing to get ready?

Also to all those doing exams, I dont like saying good luck for exams. As im studying to be a teacher (No Paedobear) I prefer the saying of an inspirational teacher of mine:

To all those taking exams, I hope you get what you deserve!

I study for the previous few days/week or so depending on how little of the course I know (take for exam my psychology exam on Saturday, hadn't touched the textbook a week earlier), get a good night sleep as its actually shown to be better for you than staying up cramming, maybe do a little bit of revision on the way to uni.

    Haha good effort Conrad!

I've been livin by this theory this semester (might change it next semester) but:

If you get 49%, your not doing enough!
If you get 51%, Your doing too much!

    Hahahahaha!

That's gold. It would probably be a good idea too

I used to do my main craming for exams during swat-vac week. We would try to condense the semesters work down to two pages of main notes. Then my mate & I would quiz each other. The morning of the exam was just reviewing the condensed notes and trying to relax.

Geez, I am glad I don't have to go through any more exams

    (back when)

Lots of meditation and stuff, no tv, no radio, don't talk to people or become distracted by other stupid things.
Plan to arrive at least 30-40 minutes early and bring notes/cheatsheet.
make sure you eat good, drink caffeine around 20 minutes before you go in. Don't aim for a caffeine comedown mid exam.
don't drink too much water before it.
listen to ambient shit, nothing too heavy.
have your pens and shit ready.
have your car keys/wallet organised so you don't do the "WHERE THE FUCK ARE MY KEYS" thing before you leave.

Yeah i'm sitting in the labs at Curtin studying for Materials this arvo.

Started studying last week instead of 2 days before exam. Helps alot if you start early.

personally, I never studied on the day of an exam. It would just stress me out if i did.

also, dont get to the exam venue too early because you end up standing round with all the other people who are stressing and they say things like "what do you know about XYZ" and then you stress because you think you dont know it.

Try and CHILL a bit before the exam. I always parked a bit away and strolled to the venue as i found the walk settled me.

For Mech Eng at Curtin, go through each tut twice in the 2 days prior to the exam. Always worked for me. Ended up with HD average.

In the couple hours before the exam, would review my notes again. Only for like 30 mins, to have it fresh in mind.

Exclaimer: Does not work for the non eng units like Sustainable Development, Law, etc.

... studying for civil eng exams... study so far is going like this...

-start studying... do almost nothing, email and facebook uni friends to see if anyone knows a tutor or lecturer who knows what is in the exam
-realise girlfriend also has exam break and a couple of weeks off, invite her round
-achieve no study for rest of the week
-go out to the pub a couple of times
    -head over to girlfriends house
-go to work, wonder why I still have to finish my degree even though I have a job
    -invite girlfriend over numerous times
    -move house all weekend
-invite girlfriend over to new house
-realise you have 4 days til your first exam and have done zero uni work (that may be right now)

at this point, I just tend to go over past tutes and generally the exams from previous years are a very good indicator of what will be in the exam...

my final tip, stay the fuck off PSB - this website singlehandedly drops my study and assignment grades by about 30% ahaha

I have a mining and metallurgy exam tomorrow at 9. After this post im going to open my books to start studying for it. only 2 hours though so hopefully its not too bad.
Normally i just write down sheets to cheat off for everything, i dont take them and cheat but the process of writing it all down puts it in your head
