My dad is a champ. I didnt realise it as a tacker, but the older I get the more I realise he is probably the best friend I will ever have.

I pick up the phone and ask a favour or if he can fix something and he tells me when he will come help do it.

When I head over there, he greats me with a smile and a bit of stick, and then smiles more when I give him some stick back.

I can only hope I am as big a champ if I'm ever a dad.

That pretty much sums it up for me too. Older, wiser, and able to appreciate people and things more, that I used to take for granted.

Distance has had the effect of waking me up to who is really important in my life, and how much I miss them now I can't see them every week.

I hope those of you that can, have a lovely day with your Dad.

Never had that great a relationship with my Dad, and I've learnt from him how to be a really good dad to my daughter. We're back on speaking terms, but mainly because he's making an effort to be a Granddad. Everyone deserves a second chance. Happy fathers day to all Dads for yesterday - you don't realise how you affect your child's lives for better or worse until you take stock of the relationship with your own Dad.

My son took me out for a round of golf yesterday and then a run to hillarys for lunch, great day, wouldve been better if my daughter wasnt in brisbane, but she called and we had a good chat...All up, a great day....
