    Friday Night Northbridge

Hey guys, Just writing up a little recap of my night this evening!

If you didnt know/werent going into Northbridge last night, Friday night, there was a massive Police Presence in northbridge, Apparently from quality sources (Cops themselves) there were at least 250 police issued to attend Northbridge working everything from Car Checks to walking the beat.
It was quite a bad sight, Everywhere you looked there were Red and Blue lights flashing (Fuck they are seriously bright!!!) and yellow vests waltzing around.

Yes i did get Fined, Obstruction of Numberplate, $50 bucks but ive copped it on the chin coz its a fair call. Its already saved me alot more then that so far so ill pay up and that will be the end of it.

There were good and bad things obviously to this evening, Streets were alot "cleaner" literally with less rubish and not so many fights, however there were a few problems with some Bouncer friends being questioned about use of excessive force etc which was a bit un called for on the police's behalf.

My only real Beef i had with them was that i was picked up entering northbridge on the James street entrance from the north... They had set up in the car parks and hidden themselves around that corner in the bit where it changes from 100 down to 80 and then to 50? real quickly and were picking people up for speed. It was a bit unfair because all the cops were keeping behind a building in the carpark to the right of the road and untill they had your speed and decided they wanted to talk with you they would jump out into the middle of the road at the last second and wave their flashy batton (Thank god for E-stop practice because the officer that signalled me just jumped in front of me at the last second and pointed the light at my face and motioned towards the car park!!)
    So thats my beef.

The upside is that i ended up talking with a relatively nice bike officer (He talked... I listened and didnt incriminate myself further) who at least was decent about it. Told me it was wrong to cover my plate (Even tho i didnt know it was covered ) and how there was a big bust because of some new high up cop. Anyways... Id like to thank him for sticking up for me when another not so nice officer inspected my bike and wanted to try pick on things like my rear Fender (Which is stock) and ping me with that aswell... Thankfully the good cop explained that his first bike was the same and that it was the stock Fender and thus must comply etc.

So i hope nobody else got pinged this evening because it sorta bummed me out a bit but i got my Tip's from the boss so that will cover most of it

Hope all the FNR'ers had a good time with no cops on the roads! Woulda been a good night for a ride!

Hope you all have a good weekend and it only picks up from here!
And sorry bout the long post!

Sometimes I think I live in a cocoon, but even I knew that the cops were planning to target all of the entries and exits from Northbridge. Having to obey the road rules around there is a small price to pay to help clean up the place. It used to be a fun place to go to.

Nah... One of our Bouncers was removing a guy who was getting violent and they were forced to get him in a headlock and restrain him... When exiting the front door the guy was thrashing and tried tripping our bouncer who let him go and he sorta tripped forward and stumbled towards the road.
The bouncer was asked why he had to use such a restraining "move" and why he tried throwing patrons quite literally from the premises...

And accross the road when a guy and his mates tried punching on with the bouncers one bouncer open hand slapped the guy who fell to the ground and sorta just sat there dazed...
Police were questioning him why he had to defend himself like that etc... Not sure what the outcome of that was.

There were a heap of police when we went through Fremantle last night, too.
Glad we didn't stop there, or go to Northbridge.
Mungus, how did you know that was going on, and why didn't you tell me!!?? (Keep me in the loop, I seem get into trouble if I have to talk to popo. )

The police have released a statement to the media that we can expect this to be a regular thing. There will be random sweeps of entertainment districts. I think it is about bloody time. Too many fucktards out there ruining it for people who just want to go out and have a good night. For my money, this is what I think the coppers should be doing with their time. Being a bit pro-active and not just sitting on the side of the road with a radar gun.

You know its quite a common "move" taught to bouncers and martial artists for self defence...
You can have your hands up in a non threatening manner backing away or what not and make a swift open hand slap which is less aggressive then a fisted punch...
Keeps their asses out of trouble (Usually) for not knocking people out cold/one punching people...

Yep, definitely a good thing. But a fucktard is always going to be a fucktard, regardless of police presence. I was in Northbridge for a while last night and two guys had a piss on the footpath. The cops caught and fined them before letting them go. They went around the corner and had a piss there as well. Another group of cops came around the corner and the two blokes did a runner.

Besides, you can't police inside the clubs as well. Majority of problems I've had have been inside venues, not outside. I don't blame the cops or bouncers, its just the way it is.
