So it's not even OK to voice an opinion of an over priced, fuel-guzzling Yank behemoth of a vehicle.
I know who owns one, I know what he has done for the forum for MAD and for bike racing in WA but to vilify a fellow forum member because he has an opinion of a vehicle is pretty poor form if you ask me.

Because it's a discussion forum Tim, people come here to exchange information and opinions and of course that is going to lead to some being opposite of what others have posted. This place would be a boring as hell if threads like this were only frequented and added to by those that sympathised with the OP, I like to see all sides of the situation and I like to see who expresses these opinions, I would rather this than a sterile place where you could only post positive or complimentary thoughts.
I see where you are coming from but I also see where Melchior is coming from.
Granted, he could possibly have elocuted himself better, but I get the general gist of what he is saying and tend to agree with him, he was just expressing an opinion of what he though of Hummers, the same as many other people in this thread.
Thankfully PSB is a place full of a lot of different personalities and opinions, I would hate to see this place turn into a motorcycling encyclopaedia with little or no real interaction and thoughts behind it.

I've driven a H1, when they used to sell them in Balcatta.
A massive beast that filled the whole lane of the freeway, it has tiny seats because the whole inside was taken up with transmission.
There's some clever design in those things too like using exacly the same CV joint and drive shaft assemblies for the front as well as the rear wheels, inboard disc brakes to keep them out of the mud and stuff like that.
I loved it.
To see it butt the left front wheel up against a concrete step about 500mm high and then just climb up it was most impressive.

I thought the H2's were kinda cool looking but the H3's look a bit close to things like the Dodge Nitro and other "normal" SUV's for my liking. They're not hardcore military machines and that's what made the H1 so cool in my eyes.
