Apparently the majority of yanks feel it's OK to piss on the corpses of your vanquished opponents.

While I found that footage pretty disgusting, I would have thought shooting them in the head (they were snipers after all) would have been a big enough fuck you, I can kind of see how the lines of right and wrong can be blurred in times of war.

I've never been to war. I'm not saying it's right. It's actually pretty fucked up.

I too was shocked and sickened. These guys have clearly developed a mental issue and need it treated asap before they are put back into civilian clothes. Afghanstan is bad but there sure aint no South Pacific WW2 battle going on.

They also shot an killed them. Thats why the line of right or wrong can get very grey. What kind of mindset do you have to work into to look thru a sight to pull the trigger. Some may use hate as motivator some may use revenge. You ask people to make it their job to kill then say you have normal society rules to follow. Everybody must understand that for some this sort of thing may happen, doesn't make it right just don't think it should come as a surprise. Momento's have been taken from corpses before plus many other desecrations in not just this conflict.

I haven't seen the footage and I don't believe that what they have done is right.
BUT as stated by a few others on here, you would have to pur yourself in the soldiers shoes. This is not a game of footy where you call game over and you shake hands and have a beer or whatever.
Imagine being trained to hate and want to kill your enemy. Looking through the scope on your rifle and pulling the trigger. You must really have to be driven by hate to kill someone on purpose.
I haven't been to war, although know a few people that have (Vietnam, Gulf and Iraq) and they come back mentally F@#Ked, with ideas and stories that just do your head in.
Sure it's morally wrong in some peoples eyes and in others, it's ok.

Having heard a few stories of the shit that goes on over there from someone who has , it is a little hard to pass judgement from my lounge suite too.

The Taliban/Afghaan are definitely no angels either , but their access to smart phones and be surrounded by lowlife cunts that are meant to be your mates probably bury what they get up to.

It may very well be a form of post traumatic stress, who knows? If the media actually played some of the shit that really goes on in a war zone , and got all the experiences of soldiers , then maybe we could pass true judgement then...

It is simply a result of that "wartime" brainwashing that dehumanises the opponent, which might have been okay in WWII when invasion was imminent, but this is a political war and these are meant to be professional soldiers - not conscripts. What is the modern military training creating? Or is it a result of tours of duty lasting too long?

It is not so much the act, more the mindset behind it that is disturbing. And of course it creates a recruitment video for the Taliban, or any Islamic/Communist/Anti-west extremist group you care to name.
