A few of you may have noticed that Starfish stopped being such a whore for a week and disappeared - but good news is, I'M BAAAAAACK! Hope you enjoyed the holiday, mods. Speaking of holiday, Akera and I went camping with my family. Lightweight easy camping based in caravan parks, but a good cheap base from which to go exploring or just sit around reading trashy novels and forgetting about the world.
Anyhoo, thought I might share a few of the pics that I took down there - most of these have had no post processing apart from a batched up quick sharpen. Nate, presumably you're printing off rolls, when I have a chance to do a decent job of the panorama blends I'll be in touch to get some larger prints...

The "Pipe Organ" formation in Jewel Cave.
A look westwards from Black Point in D'Entrecasteaux National Park - good 4WD trek over rock and sand, with the rain over the weekend, black mud.
A random blackboy on the banks of Lake Jasper, WA's largest freshwater lake. hint: anyone who would like to point out that we call them "grass trees" may first like to consider how much more fun than a pineapple these would be...
Our neighbours in the caravan park were a large group of these New Holland Honeyeaters. Akera managed to rip out a random shot of one that killed my hours of efforts toward a good bird photo. But I'm not jealous. :fork: This was my attempt.
On the way home, I managed to capture this "Christmas Tree" by standing on the roof of the taliwagon on the side of the highway. Aussie mistletoe?
Images shot on a Canon 20D using primarily a 24-70 2.8 L lens, but occasionally dragging out the 70-200 2.8L with the 1.4x teleconverter.
Have a fantastic Christmas, all.
