But this looks fantastic, IMHO. The first video does an excellent sales pitch. I sure hope this thing is released soon.

"Once you can have people more frightened of disorder than tyranny, it enables you to do almost anything you like so far as legislation is concerned." Chief Judge Antoinette Kennedy, 26/3/2010.
"The State must declare the child to be the most precious treasure of the people. As long as the government is perceived as working for the benefit of the children, the people will happily endure almost any curtailment of liberty and almost any deprivation." Adolph Hitler, Mein Kampf
That looks frigging awesome
Would have one over an Ipad but i don't think i'd have much use for either to be honest.

Somewhat interesting looking critter.
Just give me something ultra portable with a decent display, USB ports, solid battery life and internal storage so that I can manage / upload photos while traveling and I'd be interested.
**edit: I honestly think the best thing Apple have been doing lately is forcing other developers to be more competetive. As much as I don't give a fuck for gimicks and gizmos, crap like the iPad or the Courier are good things for the entire market.
Yeah the same thing happened with Phones.
A massive bunch of "smart" phones that are now better because of huge competition increase

Cute looking thing, but, like the iPad what would you use it for besides reading e-books. If its anything like the iPad it will have no camera, no GPS, no memory card, only one speaker, no USB port, won't take a normal SIM and it won't be able to multitask.
Now this HTC - Products - HTC HD2 - Overview on the other hand is actually useful, especially when combined with database software like VisualCE and voice navigation like CoPilot.

This looks much like the XO 2. MicroSoft was once part of the OLPC $100 laptop programme until egos and money got in the way.

Fortunately the $100 laptop programme is still developing and the XO 3 is almost ready for release.

This actually looks more like the iPad.
You should see what the original OLPC (One Lap Top per Child) design was like, it was almost alien. For the computer buffs though there was some brilliant thought and technology that went into it.

Apples Response: We have an App for that...
I watched Media Watch last night and they were talking about these products, including the iPad essentially doing for Newspapers what the iPod did for CDs. Of course it has other features, but the 3 media analysts were talking about how devices such as these will allow users to download and read newspapers, customise what they want in their news, and best of all, watch videos on it also.
I'll admit, at first I thought "who needs a cross between a computer and a phone, which does both worse than the original", but I'm starting to see where they're trying to go with these products.

anyone see the retards smash a new ipad with a bat?

If this thing is actually a realistic diary size and not stupidly thick or large it would be pretty much perfect for a uni student.
I would even be able to use that thing at work, out on site and taking notes, e-mailing from site and using it as a portable organiser/diary.

ye, would have been funnier if one of them taped it to his face and then ran into an on coming bus.........

looks like an interestingbit of kit. wouldnt mind seeing one in action before i buy it though.
Cops call it reckless riding. I call it 'skillz'

mega off topic.. but they also featured the iPad on WillItBlend :-)
Think I'm more looking forward to the Windows 7 mobile OS.
would be something that I, personally, would be mroe likely to use/purchase.
