There's one next to cold rock which is ok... Can't remember the name of the street but is street parallel with Essex st.

Are you 100% set on sushi train because best and cheapest Japanese food is Taka's in the Old Shanghai markets near Sail and Anchor and freo markets! Plus you can drink there

The sushi train near Cold Rock is called Pink Rice

There's a sushi train hidden down one of the streets yeah. Near HJs, walk behind it, turn left, then its on the left down there.

Yes Pink Rice been there are few times and it's not bad.

Best? Not by a LOOOOOONG shot.

Taka in freo (as well as the city ones) is cheap, fast japanese to a budget... quality isn't the biggest concern.
I went to the Sushi train place next to Cold Rock earlier in the week, was pretty reasonable... not amazing, but did the job.

Yes not "THE BEST" but I think its the best in Freo. I went to Pink Rice a couple of times when it first opened and found it average and expensive so never went back. It may have changed in time.

Its not bad if you stick with their cooked options and just want something cheap and quick, but I would avoid their sushi like the plague. Its about on par with the junk you'll find in the deli section at Coles.

Ditto. Nobu Matsuhisa is pretty big deal in all things Japanese eating.
On the downside, it involves stepping into the shit hole that is Burswood and looking at the webpage, he's opened 31 of these restaurants worldwide, so I would be pretty cynical as to how much his personal involvement would be. It doesn't mean that the food won't be great, but it does probably translate to a pretty decent price mark up when compared to other places.
