Firstly the question - is it usual for someone to have blood in their nasal passage after surgery? Or would it have to do with low blood pressure?

Anyhoo, here's some piccies. Hopefully will get some when the doc takes the plaster off next Wed.

The operation involved taking a bone graft from just above my ankle and inserting with a screw on my foot. Lots of ouchies

I fall asleep in the theatre, and wake up with this 5 hours later:

Day 4 swelling and bruising (it's made a 6 year old scar look awesome!):

Here it is moments before getting the stitches out:

Minor trauma after intubation/LMA, when they put you to sleep they have to keep your airway open, so they put a little pipe down your throat, sometimes causes a bit of bleeding. Just as you are waking up they pull the tube out, no one remembers the tube at all (they some good drugs) The little bit of blood cant go past the pipe because it has a cuff around it so may trickle into nose. Nothing to worry about.

i remember the tube being taken out of my throat when i had my operation to remove the screw from my knee back in 96.

i was put to sleep with the gas as the doc was having a had time finding a vein, so they gave me the gas..... never again. I was fully awake in recovery, chatting to fellow workers, ( as i had it done at the hospital i was workign at). I was coming through when they took the tube out, and remember the whole thing..... not a good feeling at all.....

glad things are going ok daise... and yes the mount is like a hotel..... thats where i had my ankle done....
