Cool thread.
I have nothing to contribute at this moment.
This photo is the best photo I've got of myself- and it's made even better by the person next to me. This my year 12 ball- I had to plead and plead with teachers to let my boyfriend accompany me as an outside partner because he was one year over the cut off age. It was a really good night and we both had a great time. I even bumped into my boyfriend as he was getting his suit (He let me pick out his tie). We listened to Third Eye Blind on the way up to the Hyatt...We did juggle the idea around of going up there on the bike- but decided against it.
Am I doing it right?

Nice tie.

In an interview with the New Scientist magazine marking his birthday, Stephen Hawking was asked what he thought about most during the day, and replied: "Women. They are a complete mystery."
Amen, brother. Amen.

This photo was taken on a hot day in the earlier months of this year, out the front of my place.
A combination of the world's largest/cheapest blow up pool from Kmart, a marquee borrowed from work, and the spontaneously created slip n slide spanning the length of 2 houses, made for an amazing day. Beer, BBQ, great weather and great friends - life doesn't get any better.
I remember it being a really carefree day, and just being really happy.
I like to look at it when I get stressed from uni or work, or any other of life's niggling problems. It reminds me that I've actually got it pretty lucky, life's great, and that moments like this are never too far around the corner.

My older brother and I on my uncle's bike at my Grand Parent's place.
I've always loved motorbikes, and I do remember how awesome that bike was. I would spend hours walking around it.
Would have been taken late 70s or very early 80s/
I'm on the front of course.![]()

The day I nailed the rock drop on the Murray Valley downhill trails in Dwellingup. The whole area is being logged & it will be at least a couple of years before the trails can be built again.

The correct number of bikes to own = N + 1, where N is the current number of bikes you own.
My Grandparents are over for their (roughly) tenth visit to Australia. This may well be their last too.
We had them over for dinner last night and we went across the road to the park. I took the camera over for a play to give the 17-85mm a run and test out the Speedlite 430EX II in fading light outdoors.
While the kids, my Gran and my Dad were over at the playground, my Papa and I sat on the park bench and had a chat. We spoke about traffic and what it's like driving over here with people who undertake etc etc....
The topic wasn't really important for me. Knowing this could be one of the last times I'm with my only Grandfather, it felt really special. I made out that I wanted to test a setting on the camera and asked if I could photograph him as I needed a subject and everyone else was too far away. We lost the sunlight over the top of the houses about 30 seconds later.
This one's a keeper....

Say what you want about pedophiles, but at least they slow down around school zones.
Alright, time to contribute in a meaningful way.
For the past two and a bit months I've been in the frozen wasteland of booze and powder known as Whistler, British Colombia, Canada.
Here I've had the pleasure of a truly amazing experience, due in no small part to the people, culture and weather.
I've been introduced to proper powder boarding, increased my skill in the park, on piste and off and learnt so much about my own technique it's left me baffled. The weather has been nothing short of fantastic. A couple of times we've had pow days followed by blue birds; some even mid-week.
What you see below is one such day. Clear blue skies on a Tuesday morning after it had dropped over a foot of snow the days prior, but with the added bonus of the Peak being closed due to wind and avalanche danger.
To get to this spot is a bit of an effort. You need to take a Gondola, two chairs and a T-bar, then do a short hike until you get to where I took this photo. Behind me is the Blackcomb glacier, which was soft and fresh and a pleasure to board in. Such a great run I did it twice.
In a month I'll come home pretty well broke. I should have some work lined up but my savings will have been utterly decimated by that stage. It will have been unquestionably, worth it.
Is this thread called 'moments' or 'sticky moments'?
As I could give good examples of both.
