Killer Elite, another mediocre Statham arse kicking fest. Clive Owen and De Niro do nothing to help. Just stick to the book instead.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo.
Pretty good adaptation really. Cut out all the unnecessary stuff from the book so the storyline was easy to follow. Compares well to the Swedish version, which I wasn't so happy with because I didn't think they were true to Lisbeth's character. The only bit I didn't like in this version was the opening credit sequence, it just didn't suit the film at all. I thought I was about the watch a Bond movie.

I *think* someone may have posted this but a search of the thread reveals nothing.

It seems Indonesia is the new Hong Kong. This film looks insane...

Have to say I cant wait for the original star wars trilogy to be released in 3D, not the 2nd trilogy though, they still suck, but they'll suck even more with the extra dimension
Somehow it's reassuring knowing that I'm not the only one pretending to be normal.

Seen 19 of the 20. The hammer fight in Old Boy is great. Plenty of other fight scenes that rock. I love watching Sammo Hung bust a move, so agile for a fat stumpy dude. I prefer the HK films involving gun play or ballistic ballet (now extended to the rest of the world - so I can include stuff like Equilibrium. John Woo was always a master of gun play, The Killer, Hard Boiled etc. Love it.

After watching the silly romp that is Mystery Men, with all and sundry over-acting and having a pretty good time....I am reminded that William H. Macy is just awesome in everything he does.

^ Always loved Samo, for exactly the same reason (and wasn't he in some short-lived series with Cynthia Rothrock ?) . It is why I am also a tragic Jackie Chan fan, skills coupled with self-deprecating humour seems a rarity these days.

My friend reviews films and thoroughly recommends The Raid - apparently there's a preview screening:

I'll be patient as there are SO many films I want to see and never enough time!

Sammo Hung was in a great series called "Martial Law" before the other retarded show came out with the same name.

Watched Evil Dead II last night: fuck me, the screen writer must have been tripping, out of his gourd kinda tripping, when he wrote that.

    Hugo 3D.

Must say, the movie turned out to be nothing like I had expected. It's probably one for the movie enthusiasts out there, and having read an interview with Scorsese in the Big Issue recently, I understand that this is a movie quite close to his heart. It's more a homage to early cinema. I liked it, but it's probably not for everyone.

I bought "The Road" on DVD last week & watched it yesterday, pretty intense & harrowing stuff & I can see myself not watching it again, but for all the right reasons. Based on a book by the author of "No country for old men".

Sensational book, as is No Country..

Chronicle was pretty damn good. I struggle with "handycam" concept, cause shakey cam shits me, and in the end they pulled so many tricks to get around it that it almost got in the way of a good "superpower" film well told. It certainly is way better than the trailers suggest... for a change.
