I had new fork tubes (I think - anyway the shiny bits) sent from the US by standard surface mail. Took about 3 weeks (so probably came on a plane anyway), cost about AUD40.

They were well packed and boxed (by Zanotti's) and arrived in tip-top shape.

I wouldn't bother with a courier if you can avoid it - the US Mail service does a pretty good job and is much cheaper.

Whoops, just worked out what USPS was

Can your supplier split the forks?

Are you absolutely certain USPS won't take the length?

I had forks shipped over to me last year for the FZ6S via TNT Global. Cost me $185.....

I'm also looking at getting Fairings in from the US atm.... shipping is an absolute minimum of $500, although some carriers are looking at charging me the same price as the fairings.... $800US thank you very much

Might have to do something local.......

Cap, Yes mate, they whinge at the post office about my Sato boxes when i send them over, and they are about as long as the tubes alone, then you have chrome and end caps, plus packing.

Edit : Shit Tim if we can get a few more people who want some parts shipped, it will be worth it for me to go to the US for a week and grab some bits ..... ugh.

    Question.

Is Myfxdb8i or whatever his bloody username is (Tony) coming back via the States (excess baggage)?

I had the exhaust cans sent via FedEx. From memory (and I can confirm on monday night when I get home) that it was about $US90 from California.

Obviously it all depends on the weight or the size. they have a magic number that x weight = x size. they charge whichever is greater.

My fairings cost something like $130USD total to ship. Four big boxes with foam, and (somewhere in there) some fairings. I can dig out the details if required.

    PM Sent.

The cost is worked out on 250kg per m3

So if the weight is only 10kg but it is 1m3 then they will charge you for 250kg.
