Lost it yesterday with the laptop in camp, had been running OK for a while then shat it again, slow, wouldn't upload pictures to smugmug or a forum, kept dropping outoriginally had mcAfee anti-virus, dumped it for the Bigpond Security product, OK for a while then the problems mounted...I think there is a problem with Vista's inbuilt avs and firewall. Went ahead and downloaded FF and AVG products as per recommendations on this forum, working like a charm(so far).

It did tell me to uninstall current anti-virus software, so I binned Pigponds product, and restarted, but message remained. Is it telling me to get rid of MS's avs as well? I would, but I can't find it to kill it in the Uninstall software list....they just may have to co-exist.
