I'm fairly sure the front wings on those are plastic which'll break like that.

Jeez, that was me, in 1995, driving a white GQ Nissan trayback over the Pentecost, on the way to Port Warrender. That is one very lumpy crossing, full of nice big round rocks, lovely riding. Did you get any pix at sunset, with the sun turning the Pentecost ranges deep orange? Always a good shot, but I didn't get any either.Taken yesterday at the Pentecoste River crossing in the Kimberleys. The water wasn't too deep at about half a meter but the crossing was seriously rocky and it took all of my strength and years of dirt riding experience to keep my Tiger 955 upright. In retrospect I was pretty lucky the big cat didn't go for a swim.

@Ranmar - not in the Swan, it's probably a little cold and a little fresh.
These were off the Robb St Jetty - just north of the old South Fremantle Power Station.
We sometimes see lionfish here too, just depends on the Leeuwin Current.
There is a permanent population of these guys on the former HMAS Swan so I don't know about their being tropical only...
